~Father’s point of view~

I never thought that my son, whom I raised with great care, would do such a thing.

Tohru had always been a good boy for us.

He was serious, never rebelled, and did whatever he was told.

He seemed to be doing well in his studies and continuing his club activities.

He was planning to go on to a local national university in the future.

Tohru was always within the single digits in his regular school tests, and he also got A grades in the national mock exams, so we were not worried about his future.

But one day, out of the blue, our son committed an unbelievable crime.

“Ugh…Tohru…why did you do this…”

“Hey, what’s going on?”

One day I came home from work to find my wife crying.

When I asked her what had happened, she told me that there was a PTA meeting today and that she had heard that Tohru had forcibly raped a female student in his class.

It was hard to believe that the serious Tohru would do such a thing, but my wife told me that the rumor had already spread throughout the school and neighborhood.

Where there is no fire, there is no smoke.

It is sad to say, but it is probably true, because a complete lie would not spread as widely as it did.

“I see…the day he came home with that injury…”

Come to think of it, I have an idea.

There was a day not long ago when Tohru came home with injuries all over his body.

When I asked him what had happened, he stubbornly kept his mouth shut.

Perhaps that day, Tohru had forcibly laid the victim, a girl in his class, on the ground.

And he met with resistance and suffered wounds all over his body.

That is why he did not want to tell us about it.

“Even though I raised you with great care….shit. What a bastard……. I don’t remember raising him to be such a piece of shit ! ! !”

I felt that my kindness had been repaid with poison.

I had thought I had spent more than enough money on Tohru to make sure he grew up to be a good adult.

I fed him expensive and nutritious food, and bought and gave him reference books and educational materials as he asked.

Even when he was little, I sent him to a number of lessons.

And yet, he raped a classmate.

“If this happens…I have no choice but to cut ties with him…”

This incident made me completely lose interest in my son.

I have heard that sex offenders have a high recidivism rate.

This time, the victim was not reported out of the kindness of the girl, but Tohru, who once committed a sex crime, will surely commit a sex crime again sometime in the future.

And the next time, the victim will probably file a damage report with the police and Tohru will be caught

If that happens, our family will be exposed to the world as a family that raised a sex offender, and everything will be over.

We would have to move out of the house we had built, and I would have to change my job.

…I had to do something before that happened.

“Hey, I’m going to take Tohru off the family register…”

“Are you serious?”

A few days after Tohru committed the sex crime, I consulted with my wife and decided to remove Tohru from our family register upon his graduation from high school.

“He’s still insisting on his innocence even in this situation…..I’m sure he has no remorse at all. I hear that sex offenders have a high recidivism rate,……and if this continues, he will commit another sex crime and torment our family,……so we have to do something before that happens.”

“I understand…..let’s do so.”

“We have to take care of him until he graduates from high school, and then we will have fulfilled our parental duty. Until then, we have to be patient.”

“,,,,,Yes.”

It was easy to persuade my wife, who was completely demoralized after being attacked by the PTA and being pointed back at when she walked around the neighborhood.

We secretly decided to remove Tohru from our family register upon his graduation from high school.

And to prevent Tohru from getting any worse, we punished him by not giving him any food at home.

“No food for a criminal.”

“If you want something to eat, eat what is in the refrigerator.”

I don’t want him to think he can stay in this house forever because he is a criminal.

We didn’t want him to starve to death, so we allowed him to eat the food in the fridge on his own, but we didn’t cook any meals for him from the day his crime was discovered.

Tohru protested at first, but gradually stopped saying anything.

Although he insisted on his innocence, he must have been aware of his guilt in his own mind.

“Damn it…I hope this doesn’t get through to the company…….”

Now that I have decided to remove Tohru from my home and cut him off as soon as he graduates from high school, my worry is that this will be passed on to the company.

If the company finds out that their own son was a sex offender, I won’t be able to go to work anymore.

“Phew…I guess the rumors haven’t gotten this far yet…”

It had been a week since Tohru committed the crime, and apparently the company had not yet heard that my son had committed a sex crime.

I patted my chest in relief and looked forward to the day when I could quickly remove my son, who had become a filthy criminal, from the house.

But one morning the news turned everything upside down.

“Hey…you. This is……”

“No way……Tohru was innocent…?”

One morning news reported that a crime had occurred at the family home of a classmate named Kisaragi Himehana, whom Tohru was said to have raped.

According to the report, Kisaragi Himehana was a victim of sexual abuse by her father for many years, and now she conspired with him to frame Tohru for the rape.

In fact, it was a consensual sexual act, but after the act, she suddenly decided that it was rape and asked her father for help.

The father became furious when he learned that his daughter had been raped and assaulted Tohru.

Tohru’s injuries that day were not caused by the blowback he received from the rape victim….no, it was an act of unjust violence by the father of the assailant who had falsely accused him.

“So that’s what happened…….”

“So Tohru didn’t commit a sex crime…..”

I was astonished to learn the truth.

At the same time, I breathed a sigh of relief.

I would not be fired from my job.

I would not be publicly backbitten.

For the time being, my protection was complete.

I would no longer lose my job.

“Eh…..Kisaragi…?”

As I was relieved that the worst was averted for the time being, I heard such a voice from behind me.

Tohru was staring at the news with a surprised expression on his face.

My wife and I looked at each other, suddenly feeling awkward.

Tohru was not a criminal.

It was confirmed that Tohru himself was right.

Nevertheless, we imposed various sanctions on Tohru.

We called our son a criminal and did not give him breakfast or dinner.

Even after all this time, a sense of guilt began to grow inside.

“W-what are we going to do… Tohru wasn’t a criminal…”

“T-that is…..”

As Tohru stared intently at the news, my wife and I discussed the situation quietly in the back.

“Should we apologize to Tohru….?”

“Tohru is a kind boy so I’m sure he’ll forgive us…anyway, I’m glad Tohru isn’t a criminal…now the neighbors won’t gossip about me anymore…”

“But isn’t Tohru angry…?”

“Don’t worry…I mean, in that situation, anyone would think Tohru was a criminal…that’s what everyone was saying, right…? The victim also cried all the time at school,…..and I’m sure she was crying because she was actually the perpetrator…..but I’m sure Tohru would understand our position too…”

“R-right……Tohru has not forgotten how much he owes us for raising him…I’m sure he will tell us that he will let bygones be bygones…”

As I was sneaking around discussing such matters, Tohru looked back at me.

Then he looked at me, my wife, and my daughter alternately.

I felt awkward, but waited for the right moment, thinking that Tohru would tell me himself that he would let bygones be bygones.

But Toru said nothing.

“Onii chan.”

“Don’t touch me.”

My daughter reached out to him, but he brushed her hand away and silently walked out of the house.

“What should we do…..”

“Well, he’ll get over it. His anger is temporary.”

After Tohru left the house, I quieted my wife, who looked shocked, by saying these words.

The fact that the father first thought about his job when the MC’s innocence was proven really goes to show what kind of parent he is.

Mother: What should We do…
Father: Well, He’ll get over with. His anger is temporary.
Me: WRONG!! DEAD BLOODY WRONG!! In Tohru’s eyes, Ya’ll are nothing but insignificant bugs no worth giving a damn. Ya Guys dig quite a huge, deep hole. Only thing left is for Ya, is to lay deep in it and allow Tohru to bury you down along with the shovel.

Agree. He doesn’t deserve to have such a twisted family. He’s better off moving out of the house and cut all ties with Them.

I really hope that this is not a story where in the end the protagonist ends up forgiving the family that treated him badly, that it is not a “meaningless redemption” story. What the family did is unforgivable and I hope the author gives them a horrible ending, like the horrible family they are.
