【Marshmallow Night! Sweet or Bitter, Have It All】
As the title suggests, tonight’s stream is all about eating marshmallows.
Not real marshmallows, mind you.
We call it a “marshmallow stream” because answering viewer messages and questions is likened to the question box service called Marshmallow.
In Part 1, answering questions sent to this Marshmallow is apparently called “eating marshmallows.” Who came up with that name first? Seriously, how did they even think of that?
I’d give them a gold star for that.
The best part about this is definitely that you can send questions anonymously. It makes it easy to hear people’s true feelings and ask questions about things like love advice—things that are hard to say or difficult to express—without hesitation.
Love advice is embarrassing, right?
You can’t casually ask things like, “He/she has this personality, so…” or “I like this about them, but I can’t stand that part…” or “How can we get closer?”
If you could do that, you’d probably be a popular kid. And if you were popular, you wouldn’t be throwing stuff at Marshmallows—you’d solve it yourself (prejudice).
Seriously, it’s because I’m the introverted type sending this stuff that I’ve never even had a single girlfriend (cry).
But sometimes Marshmallow gets slanderous comments or landmine questions too.
The so-called shitty Marshmallow.
Sometimes malicious questions cause backlash, and there are idiots who spam annoying messages.
It’s tough being a VTuber, huh.
Yozuki Mei is awesome for pushing through all that.
She actually replies to the Marshmallows.
And she doesn’t overreact to the shitty ones either.
Actually, since her viewers aren’t troublesome or toxic, she’s only had to address these kinds of questions a handful of times.
Hard to tell if that’s good or bad about the crowd.
“Alright, next question… Favorite drink… huh? Lately, I’ve been hooked on the bottled café au lait from 7-Eleven? It’s sweet and delicious ♡”
‘Ah, I get it’
‘Seriously recommended when you need sugar’
‘Eh, but isn’t it super sweet?’
‘Guess it depends on your taste’
So the next question is about drinks.
I love 7-Eleven’s café au lait too.
Honestly, I could totally handle a liter of that stuff.
I even sent a long email to the company asking if they’d sell it (distant gaze).
They said it was impossible due to production processes, so I gave up.
“I like that one too.”
I commented because I was happy.
Mei-chan must have noticed my comment, because she flashed a big smile and said happily,
“That’s right! I tried it because Rai-san said you liked it, and now I’m hooked!!”
“It’s my fault?!?!”
“Alright, I’ll buy it.”
“I’m heading to Seven-Eleven.”
‘7-Eleven’s servers are down right now!!’
‘No way, seriously?! What the heck is going on?’
I never imagined a casual comment could have such an impact… Influential VTubers are amazing.
Hmm, but did I actually comment during a stream?
I did casually tweet about it a while back, but there’s no way a super popular VTuber is actually monitoring my account, right?
