“U-uh, w-what do we do?”
“C-calm down….it’s not like we’re doing anything wrong.”
Even though I said that, my voice was stuttering and me and Rina san were leaning to each other.
It’s because Yuika came to the restaurant with a man.
And what’s more, they were guided to a seat directly behind us.
So far, our presence has gone unnoticed.
Since the sofa is made taller than the rest of the room, the other side can only see the top of my head at the most.
“Y-you’re right….I should be confident.”
“Y-yeah. I don’t think that’s a problem.”
However, even so, the situation still made me shrink.
For example, if Yuika had come to the family restaurant with her female friends, I wouldn’t have cared so much.

I can overhear the conversation between Yuika and the man.
As expected from this distance, I can hear it all…

Rina san squeezed my hand.
She squeezed it tightly, so strongly that it feels like it will leave a mark.
“Well, you’re the one who said that we should try going out on trial basis. That’s why I broke up with Takuto and decided to sort out my feelings by going out with you. And now that I’ve sorted out my feelings, I’m saying I’m breaking up with you. Is that strange?”
“Well, I think it makes sense? Well, that’s fine. I don’t have time to deal with a self-centered woman like you anyway.”
“Yeah right.”
“It’s kind of cold, so I’m going home.”
The man stood up quickly and left the family restaurant with rough steps.
I understood the situation a little bit..
Yuika and I were ex-lovers.
So, I had no intention to get into Yuika’s private matters, and unless she told me, I was going to pretend that I had seen nothing.

The man disappeared, leaving Yuka all alone.
Rinsa san let go of my hand and stood up.
She turned in her heel and headed straight for Yuika.

Her face was distorted and shocked, as if she had seen an alien.
“About what you said earlier, is it true?”

“I was sitting in the back seat here. Then Yuika came to this seat later.
“You were eavesdropping?”
“Not by my choice,”
“Hmm. So Takuto is here too……”
I’m not going to hide myself at this point, so I stood up.
When Yuika recognized me and my existence, she muttered while gasping.
“My bad, I didn’t mean to eavesdrop.”
“……It’s fine, No need to apologize.
Yuika gently lowered her gaze.
Rina san tilted her head with irritated eyes.
“I won’t hand over Takuto. I will never hand it over.”
“Huh? Last time you said something like ‘come and take it back’.”
Rina san clenched her fists so hard that her fingernails were digging into them, and she looked down.
“I feel sorry for Takuto kun.”
“Eh?”
“Being dumped by Yuika, and he was depressed like never before, and I seriously thought he was going to die.
“Then.”
“But, Yuika, you’re being too selfish….. You broke up with Takuto kun one-sidedly without even consulting him, and then started dating another man, even if it’s just a trial, and said that you like Takuto kun after all. I can’t overlook that… there’s no way I can do that !”
She clenched her teeth and glared at Yuika with a frown look.
Tears slightly appeared at the corners of her eyes.
Rina san thinks about me more than anyone else.

“Rina san, let’s go back to our seats.”
I took Rina san’s hand, it seemed like she was about to cry.
It’s not like I don’t have a lot to say about Yuika.
However Rina san said most of it.
Maybe that’s why my heart felt like a weight had been lifted.
I felt as if the slight amount of lingering feelings I had for Yutaka had been released just now.
“W-wait…. N-no. I’m sorry Takuto. I was in the wrong-“
“I told you before.”
“Eh?”
“I like Rina san. I don’t want you to get in my way.”
In a gentle, speaking tone, I clearly expressed my current feelings.
It’s not that I hate or despise Yuika.
It’s just that my feelings right now are for Rina san. Regardless of the circumstances, I have no intention of getting involved with Yuika ever again.
I decided to convey this intention once again so that there would be no misunderstanding.
Yuika bit her lower lip and left the family restaurant in a rush.

okay before people start hating on yuika, that she is the worst, while what she did was dumb, it does make sense for how she felt like:
-they basically grew up together and have been dating for a long time, but they barely did anything lover-like, and never advanced their relationship.
-so since they treated each other like friends while dating she probably got confused if he is just a good (childhood)friend to her or if it’s actually love. and was trying to sort out her feelings in the dumbest way possible
the issue is, as always, that the characters don’t talk to other people about their personal problems and just try to solve them themselves. yuika could’ve talked about her feelings with her sister or her boyfriend without just breaking up and starting to date someone else, maybe they would’ve concluded trying out to just be friends for a time period. or her sister might’ve declared that she actually likes him, which seems less likely than her trying to get them back together during that time.
she still did something really dumb and hurt his feelings greatly so it can’t be excused, but I don’t think it’s irreparable and they could definitely become good friends again. Im not even sure if she truly rediscovered her love or if it’s just “I want what I can’t have”

That’s how woman’s brain and even a majority of man’s work. They never express their thought and hardship to the ones beside them and try to carry all the problems. That alone showed the lack of trust between 2 person. In woman’s case, they rarely do that, and when the problem exploded, they blame the man for not realizing it, like are we men esper or some kind of mind-reading alien? Really hate that kind of half-assed relationship.

Sure, but it’s pretty insulting of her to get on his back about getting with her sister immediately after breaking up when she was doing the exact same thing with some other dude. And she was the one who dumped him, nonetheless. She’s not a monster or anything, but she’s a real dumbass who got exactly what’s coming to her.

but hey atleast she broke up before she cheated physically
anyway, after learning about that the truth he shouldn’t even consider taking her back(imo), she had the chance to talk about her feelings but didn’t want to bother with that
That’s actually a good point. Majority would’ve just cheated when in that situation. At least she broke up with him while sorting out her feelings.
No, her behaviour is not just ‘dumb’, she broke up with the guy in a hurtful way, to try testing things out with some other guy. That is selfish. There’s nothing wrong with breaking up, and she didn’t cheat, but that is because she didn’t give him the chance to respond or try to work something out. If you break up with someone and, a few days later, you are seen with another person, that is basically cheating, she had the idea while she was with him. And if you break up with someone, you are meant to have thought it through enough so that is that. You can’t want the other person back again, 2 weeks later, after putting them through that. If you respect them, you accept that you have to live with your decision and not bother them again.
I have one word,,only one word to describe yuika that is a….b>tch…..she date another person just after she break up with mc btw she probably break up with mc with the intention to date that guy or worse…….. let’s hope she never reconcile with the mc …..btw she probably know her big sis like mc before they go out…….but still go out with mc what a pathetic b>tch……just go exploded……

Lol… So that’s the story why she dumped him. Oh well, now she’s reaping what she sowed. It’s not like I hate her or want her to suffer, but she IS selfish and Rina is clearly a much better option for the MC as a GF. I wish Yuika luck finding happiness with a new partner, preferably after doing some self-reflection and improving herself, but she needs to let go of the past and stop bothering this couple.
…I still wouldn’t mind shimaidon, but I don’t think it’s happening.
