After being subjected to the shame play of having my arms crossed by Reona and Riona, I arrived at the classroom and passed the time appropriately while wearing earphones and listening to music.
I had once had Reona blow on my ear when I was dozing off at my desk, so I decided not to go to sleep as a countermeasure.
After a while, the chime rings and make-up class starts. It was basically the same as usual, except that the class time was different, and to be honest, it was a lot of trouble.
However, if I failed to keep up with the class, I would be in danger of being expelled from the school, so I could not skimp on the work.
After all the remedial classes were over, it was time for lunch, so I got up from my seat and headed for the Best Place as usual.
“Ryoya-kun, wait, are you possibly going to leave me?”
“…… Um, Reona-san? We’re really standing out right now.”
The whole class is looking at us because of Reona’s loud voice. It is true that we have been eating lunch together since before the summer break, but we must have left the classroom separately before.
“Never mind, never mind, I’ll give today’s lunch to Ryoya-kun. Of course, it’s handmade by me and Riona, just like before.”
“…… are you doing this by any chance?”
Because she said that in a loud and proud voice, the whole class knows that I’m getting my lunch made by Reona and Riona.
Some classmates are looking at me with jealousy, which makes me feel very uncomfortable in the classroom.
“N-no. That’s not true.”
“Yeah, I know you did it on purpose.”
It was so intentional that I couldn’t help but make a comment to that effect. Could it be that Reona is trying to destroy my peaceful school life?
“…..let’s go for now.”
“Yeah, let’s go.”
The pressure of the stares from the classmates is not going to be able to bear any more. We hurried out of the classroom. Then, we met up with Riona, who had arrived at the Best Place earlier, and started eating our lunches.
“Ryoya and Onee chan, you were a little late coming, what’s wrong?”
“Reona was giving me a terrible time, you know.”
“Eh, Rude. I just got involved with Ryoya a little bit.”
In Reona’s mind, that was just a little bit. It was at a level that made me want to look up the meaning in a dictionary, but I didn’t even feel like digging into it anymore.
◇ ◇ ◇ ◇ ◇ ◇ ◇
After the three of us spent our lunch break in a friendly atmosphere without any particular problems, it was time for homerooms regarding the school festival.
Today and tomorrow we will be discussing what needs to be decided in homeroom, and the day after tomorrow we will start full-scale preparations for the festival.
Today’s homeroom agenda is the selection of class leaders for the school festival and the subject matter of the play. Since class leaders receive extra credit for their class performance, several of their classmates, who may be aiming for a recommendation, ran for the position.
“I’d like to get a recommendation because I’m too lazy to study for exams, but there’s no way I can be a class leader because I’m a loner …….”
Such a role is for someone with excellent communication skills and charisma. By the way, Reona, who meets that requirement, was the class leader last year, so she said during lunchtime that she wouldn’t run for the position this time.
“To be honest, I’m not interested in who the class leader will be, and I’m pretty sure I’ll be working behind the scenes in the theater anyway, so I don’t really care.”
That’s why I can’t bring myself to seriously participate in today’s homeroom. So I completely ignored the discussion of the school festival and started thinking about the dungeon rounds of the shadow game.
I raised my hand when asked to raise my hand, but my vote wouldn’t have much influence anyway.
As I was doing this, I gradually became sleepy. I had been living a pretty self-indulgent life during the summer vacation, and it might be taking a toll on my body.
“I had an early start today, and I’m really sleepy.”
The class is currently discussing the subject matter of the play under the leadership of the class leader who had just been decided, but I was too sleepy to really think about it. I was desperately fighting sleepiness, but apparently I couldn’t overcome the physiological phenomenon.
I fell asleep before I knew it, and when I woke up, homeroom was just about to end. I saw the words “Snow White” written on the blackboard and knew that the subject of the play had been decided.
“I see, so the play is going to be about Snow White,”
There was a suggestion that they wanted to come up with an original storyline, but in the end, they settled on something safe.
“Ah, Ryoya-kun. You finally woke up.”
As I was getting ready to leave after homeroom was over, a slightly stunned-looking Reona spoke to me.
“Somehow, I fell asleep.”
“I know it’s going to be tough from now on, but hang in there, okay?”
“…… what does that mean?”
I was not sure what she meant, so I asked her and she pointed to the left half of the blackboard. There, she pointed to the left half of the blackboard, where the casting for the play was written.
I was looking at it as if it was someone else’s problem, thinking that it must be tough for those who have to play the main characters, but the moment I saw the casting for Snow White, I froze completely.
“Eh, it says Yagami Ryoya in the casting!?”
Clearly, I had no idea what that meant. Why should I, a man, play Snow White?
“Only Snow White and Prince Charming couldn’t be decided, so I recommended Ryoya to play Snow White just for the fun of it. Then, the majority voted to accept you.”
“Hey, hey, what are you doing ……?”
If you are going to play a prank, at least make it the prince’s one. Well, I definitely don’t like the prince because he is not my character either.
“I felt guilty about it, so I took the role of the prince. So let’s work together.”
“….. depressing.”
I could only mumble quietly in a weak voice as I felt heavy thinking about what I was going to do.
