Sol woke up in the middle of the night, when there was still not a bit of sunlight.
He still remembered vividly the events of his dream. Sol sat up, wanting something to distract himself from the painful feelings.
He noticed that Celes and Lepios, who were supposed to be sleeping nearby, were not there. He looked around and saw a dim light in the distance. Sol somehow moved closer to the light.
“How …… are you going to ……!? If he …… knows ……, he will …….
…..”
“So let …… meet …… You …… do well …….”
The voices were definitely those of Lepios and Celes, but Sol could not clearly hear what they were saying. It just sounded like they were arguing about something. Sol was curious as to what they were talking about, so he stealthily approached them.
“S-Sol! What are you doing?”
Sol’s body jumped when he heard the voice from behind him. He turned around to see Carla there, who was supposed to be sound asleep. Carla was breathing heavily, as if she had come running in a panic.
“Hey, Carla! Quiet! There’s something the two of them are talking about. ……”
“Oh, uh, that’s ……. Could it be an application for a match? That’s not fair!”
When Carla says this in a surprisingly loud voice, Sol gets impatient. Sol was almost laughing a little at Carla’s comment because it was so like Carla, but he didn’t want her to find out that he was trying to sneak in a conversation between them.
“No, I need you to be quiet right now! Besides, I feel like there’s some kind of struggle going on here!”
“What are you two doing there?”
Lepios, who was supposed to be talking in the back, was walking towards them with a suspicious look on his face. He probably recognized Carla’s voice. For a moment, Sol thought he is trying to deceive him, but then he felt like he was going to dig an even deeper hole, so he opened his mouth to ask him directly.
“Well, I just woke up! What were you talking to Celes about, Lepios?
It sounds like there was some kind of dispute.”
Sol would have asked the person directly in a situation like this. Hearing Sol’s words, Lepios looked intently at Sol.
“What do you mean…..somekind of trouble?”
“Oh, no,……. I didn’t know what you were talking about! You were talking to Celes in a very serious way,…….”
Hearing Sol’s words, Lepios closed his eyes for a while as if thinking about something. Then he took a deep breath and opened his mouth.
“I was checking with Celes about …… you. I can’t get you into trouble with a body that hasn’t woken up for so long.”
“Huh? Me? But as you can see I’m fine ……”
Sol tilted his head at these words that came out of Lepios’ mouth unexpectedly. He sighed heavily again.
“I knew you would say that if I asked you. And you would probably try to come with me anyway, saying that you are fine now. That’s why I was complaining to Celes about why she brought you here at this time.”
Sol understood. Lepios is a worrier after all. If someone was sick, he would give them a break and take care of them first, saying that it would be inefficient to act while they were sick or that it would be more efficient to heal them as soon as possible.
Yet Sol was really well. If this were the world of his previous life, he would have had some problems with his physical strength after sleeping for so long.
But this is a game world. Sol had no doubt in his mind that this was the world of the game and that was why he was able to move. His mind was filled with the desire to advance the story of the back bosses and see the world with a real happy ending.
“No, look! I’m really doing well! Celes is watching my moves too, so I know I’ll be fine …….”
“No matter how much you say so, there’s always a chance that it’s affecting you in ways you’re not even aware of. So let me examine you thoroughly in the morning and we’ll talk about it. Then we can talk about it.”
“Haha, take it easy …….”
Sol flinched a little under Lepios’ pressure, but he agreed that an examination was indeed important.
Then Sol’s eyes met those of Celes, who looked at him without saying anything behind Lepios’ back. For some reason, Celes looked at Sol with a look of satisfaction on her face. Seeing this, Sol vaguely thought that he did not have to worry deeply about the matter he had just exchanged with Lepios.
◆
The next morning, Sol was subjected to a full body examination by Lepios. However, there was no physical examination or examination using advanced machines as in the previous world, and other than visual inspection and palpation, the examination was done by channeling magic power into the body.
After confirming that Sol’s body was in perfect condition, they began to talk about the main issue they had not discussed yesterday.
According to Lepios, the Book of Forbidden Arts had been stolen from the castle. As per the scenario, traces of the use of the forbidden technique of resuscitation appeared. The approximate location was determined by the magic experts in the castle, and it was even revealed that the traces were in each of the towers, except for the collapsed one.
They then asked Celes and her team, who had accomplished the defeat of the Demon King, to go to the towers once again to investigate. As per the scenario, they first contacted Celes, but they had lost contact with her, so they contacted Lepios.
“So, I was thinking that me and Carla would go to investigate. ……”
“I’m coming too! The fact that the art of raising the dead was used in the tower means there’s a good chance it involves the Four Kings! There’s also the possibility that the Four Kings are being brought back to life! And with that in mind, the more forces we have, the better!”
Sol managed to get his approval to go with him. He didn’t want to be left behind because he had just woken up when the story about the back boss was about to begin.
For some reason, Lepios closed his eyes and thought for a moment, then opened his mouth again.
“…… I suppose so. Certainly, there is a good chance that the Four Kings have come back to life.”
“Right! That’s why I should be there too,…….”
“If Sol wants to go, I won’t object. I’m sure Behe is alive, and it would be dangerous if someone were to leave Sol behind and move on his own. In that case, we can protect Sol better if we stay together.”
Sol was flustered by Celes’ unexpected words. Sol thought that the reason why the three of them were worried about Sol going with them was because they thought Sol had been defeated by Behe.
“Wait, that time was so sudden that I just couldn’t handle it, but if I fight normally, too,…….”
“Yeah. Sol is strong. But I can’t forgive Behe for what he did to Sol. He needs to be made to regret putting Sol in so much danger.”
“Wait, Celes ……?”
Sol was a little upset by the statement, which Celes was not likely to say. Celes was only a character who fights for justice, and she didn’t have the image of fighting for vengeance.
“I like it! That! we will defeat evil!”
“Yes. Evil must be defeated.”
Sol wonders if he is mistaken by the innocent words of Carla and the concurring words of Celes. But Celes only said so out of a sense of justice. Sol thought so.

So Lepios knows he died for good? And it seems he is trying to figure out how he’s still alive. Wonder if there are going to be any consequences for reviving him.
It required a sacrifice to use that resurrect book
Ok him continuing to insist following the gake and treating this all as a game is getting immensely annoying. Its one of my most hated tropes
