Then Sol and Celes had a quick meal and lay down on the bed. Since this was where the bandits lived, there were no shortage of beds. So Sol and Celes were supposed to sleep in separate beds, Sol thought.
When Sol got into bed, he heard a creaking sound and another warmth entered the bedding. Then an arm, thinner than his own, went around Sol’s waist. Sol’s arms were soft and soft against his chest.
“Umm ……, Celes san, ……?”
“What is it……?
“Well, this is …….”
As far as he remember, Celes didn’t have a habit of sleeping hugging something. That’s why he can’t understand Celes’s actions of hugging Sol like a pillow, and he stop thinking.
Celes said as she hugged Sol tightly.
“I want to sleep knowing that …… Sol is alive. Can’t I do that… ?”
Once Celes said that, Sol couldn’t say anything. Judging by the bags under Celes’ eyes, she must have been caring for Sol, even when he was sleeping. he couldn’t tell Celes to leave like that.
But Sol was a 17-year-old man in the throes of puberty. Celes’ actions were probably because she trusts him. But even if he understood this in his head, it was another matter if he could sleep.
“Umm Celes san. ……”
“What is it?”
“I’m a man, too, and I can’t …… sleep.”
Sol said this with a will, and Celes quickly removed her hand from Sol’s body.
“Surely, it is no good not being able to sleep.”
Celes said that indifferently, and didn’t seem particularly drawn. Sol is relieved to see Celes in such a state.
But it did not end there. Celes stared at Sol and opened her mouth.
“Well, then, can’t we just hold hands?”
“Hee!? Oh, yeah, we can do that…….”
When Sol said so, Celes held Sol’s hand with a big smile on her face.
“Fufu. It’s warm. Sol is alive……..”
Seeing Celes happily holding Sol’s hand, Sol’s affection for her is stronger than his feelings of guilt. Just being alive makes her so happy. It was something he had never experienced since he was living as a Yuuji
“Aaa mouu……!”
With these words, Sol turned toward Celes and pulled her head into his chest, hugging her close. He then stroked Celes’ head as if to gently soothe her. He simply wanted to reassure Celes, who was so worried about him.
“I-I wonder if this is good…?”
“I think I can sleep with …… this one.”
“Yes,…….”
Celes said just that and fearfully grabbed Sol’s clothes. And then she heard a heartbeat.
Celes knew that in truth, if she hugged Sol, Sol would become conscious. Celes did not miss the fact that Sol had blushed a little when she hugged him as soon as he woke up.
So, wanting to make him more aware of her, she hugged Sol, innocently acting as herself, happy that Sol was alive. In that way, she wanted to make him like her, to spoil him, to make him dependent on her, so that he would never leave her side again.
But this would only make her drown more deeply.
Even as she thought this, she felt Sol’s hand caressing her head, and closed her eyes. The smell of Sol’s sweat and the sound of his heartbeat made her feel helplessly relieved to realize that he was alive. And since she hadn’t slept for a while, Celes fell asleep quickly in Sol’s arms.

“Hey, Sol. I have an appointment with Lepios and Carla. Do you want to come with me, Sol?”
Celes said this to Sol a few days after Sol woke up.
The meeting place was a bridge a short distance away from Pasionia. And Pasionia was Sol’s hometown and the first town near the tower that he would visit when the story for the back boss started.
“Of course! Because I want to meet them both, too!”
Sol agreed with two words. He was looking forward to meeting Lepios and Carla, of course, but he was also looking forward to experiencing the story of the backstage bosses, which he had thought he would never see.
The purpose of the rendezvous would also be to discuss the king’s request regarding the forbidden arts. Originally, the main character, Celes, was supposed to receive the request from the king. Then, under the guise of tracking down the traces of the forbidden art used by Behe, they traveled around the country.
However, if Sol acted differently from the original, it was a common occurrence that a character different from the original would perform a key action, even if the main plot remained the same. Therefore, it was not surprising that Lepios and Carla received the request instead of Celes.
As Sol was getting ready to leave, Celes came to him.
“I have something for you”
She handed him a bag with green thread embroidered with ivy, the color of a lemon. Inside was an emerald green jewel, similar to the color of her eyes.
“What is this?”
“It’s a good luck charm. It was to protect Sol from ever having to go through that again.”
“Seriously? I feel bad, but I’m happy!”
Sol is a little embarrassed and scratches his head. Sol had never received a present from a woman who had prepared it for him. Moreover, it is a present from the most liked character. There was no way he wasn’t happy.
Celes glanced at Sol’s expression and then snapped the ring on the bag into the button hole on Sol’s jacket pocket.
“I’m sure this will protect you,”
“Perhaps it will have some effect?”
“…… No. It’s just a spell.”
“Hmm?”
Sol once again looks at what Celes gave him. There were items called ornaments in this world, but even if he traced his memories of his previous life, he had never found anything like this. However, Sol, who was in a world where there was a culture of amulets in his previous life, only knew that such things existed.
“Anyway, thank you very much! A present from Celes is too good to be true!”
“Really ……!? I’m glad to hear you say so too……!”
Sol’s words made Celes smile happily as well.

Very cute interaction, but that amulet is definitely nothing good and he shouldn’t keep it on him at all. Probably something that lets her track him or control him in some way.
I came here thinking it would be a wholesome story after he went through a lot but…everything in this is unsettling and eearie…
