Putting the ringtone incident aside, I was focused on the game.
Once we moved to a safe zone, with no gunfire or footsteps around, Risa spoke up.
“Here, take this.”
“Oh, thanks… Wait, an AWM?!”
She handed me the most powerful sniper rifle in the game.
“Are you sure!?”
“I wasn’t using it.”
“No way!!??”
How the hell are you supposed to land headshots with any other sniper rifle!?!?
“By the way, what sniper rifle are you using now, Risa?”
“CSLR4.”
I think that was the second most powerful weapon after the AWM.
The AWM was easy to handle because it automatically aimed when you looked through the scope, and its high power was great. But I don’t think the weapon Risa had had that feature.
Why can you land headshots (etc.)
“Looks like the safe zone is shrinking near the department store.”
‘Let’s get there early.’
“Roger.”
Five teams left.
We were near the water plant, still within the safe zone, but we moved forward thinking ahead.
‘One over there’

An announcement on the left informed us Risa had downed an enemy.
“That’s the exact opposite direction!”

“No emotion whatsoever!!”
Somehow, this is starting to feel fun.
Though my spine inexplicably chills.
“There should be one more… Found it!”
I aim and fire with the AWM Risa gave me.
The auto-aim + high-damage single shot took the enemy down in one hit.
“Yes!”
‘Nice.’
Even so, only two kills so far.
I’m nowhere near Risa’s level.
I need to practice more.
Still, duos are fun too.
Only three teams left.
As expected, the safe zone had shrunk near the department store.
‘Let’s focus.’
“Of course.”
We were already inside the safe zone. Enemies would start gathering around here soon.
With two teams, four people total, getting surrounded and picked off wouldn’t be surprising.
I spotted one person running from the water plant area.
He was swaying left and right to avoid being sniped, but he couldn’t outmaneuver the AWM’s auto-aim.
I missed twice, but got him with the third shot.
I immediately switched to the M4A1 and scanned the area.
Gunfire echoed nearby, but it was still faint.
The downed enemy was writhing around like he was calling for help, so I deliberately let him move around, waiting for his partner to come to his aid.
There he was!
I switched back to the AWM and was aiming when I got shot from another direction.
“Damn, I got shot. And I’m down…”
No way.
The remaining players are seriously tough.
“Watch out, I got shot from the west.”
‘Hold on. I’m taking him out top priority.’
True to her word, an announcement came from the left: the enemy who downed me had been taken out by Risa.
She’s incredible.
“Oh, and there’s one more near the enemy I took down.”
‘Got it. I see them.’
True to her word, the announcement of her kill came from the left.
That left just one more.
She lit smoke near me while I was downed and revived me.
“Thanks.”

“I’ll be the decoy. Focus your fire on the target.”
“Got it.”
One enemy left.
One slip-up and we could lose.
“Spotted. Behind the rock.”
Risa found the enemy.
“Copy. Moving in.”
I switched to my M4A1 and headed for the location Risa called out.
The enemy reacted, likely hearing my footsteps, and their footsteps appeared on the map.
I could see them aiming at me.
‘Nice.’
Thud.
Risa’s one word, one shot.

“Phew… We did it!”
‘Good job.’
“Seriously, nice… If Risa hadn’t been in the party, we’d have lost early.”
