I’d like to explain about Kuroi Risa once more.
Kuroi Risa is an illustrator.
She designs game characters and creates covers for light novels.
And above all, she handles the character design and LIVE2D modeling for VTuber Yozuki Mei.
One factor contributing to Mei-chan’s growing subscriber count was that Kuroi Risa herself debuted as a VTuber around four months after Mei-chan’s debut.
Her streams are unique.
As indicated by her current stream title, “First Voice Stream,” she never speaks at all.
To give an example of an illustrator who also does VTubing: that person, who handles character designs for certain agency’s VTubers while also being a hugely successful VTuber themselves—sometimes even achieving staggering view counts with songs featuring a loli-style avatar—streams only once every week or two, and during busy periods, less than once a month.
Her content mostly consists of game streams and casual chat streams.
But Kuroi Risa doesn’t speak.
Her content is work streams and game streams.
I was subscribed to her channel and had watched one of her early streams, and she truly didn’t speak.
For her game streams, she did indeed stream Knives Out, but she didn’t use voice chat; she only played the game audio.
She was just so incredibly skilled that I remember the comment section going wild.
I also watched clips of her work streams. She definitely used two screens: while drawing the main illustration, she’d fulfill requests from the comment section on the other screen.
She’d set the main illustration aside and draw at lightning speed on the second screen.
Despite the speed, the quality was high. I saw in the clip comments that surprisingly, some enthusiasts actually went to watch her streams.
And now she’s doing voice streams?
