Episode 3 – Me and my sister first

It was a few days after that day that I woke up in a hospital bed after being stabbed with a knife while defending the Tsurugi sisters.
Apparently, I was in a very critical condition, and even if I had emergency surgery, it was honestly 50-50 whether I would survive. Needless to say, I was horrified when I heard about it later.

“I’m really glad I survived. …… Well, my luck wasn’t good at all when I got involved in a random murder case.”

Now, about a week had already passed since the emergency surgery was over, and I had left the intensive care unit and was being moved to a private room in the general ward.
In the intensive care unit, only family members were allowed to visit the patient, but in the general ward, there were no such restrictions. But that didn’t matter to me at all.

“Because I’m a loner with no friends. ……”

Yes, unfortunately, I don’t have any friends who can come to visit me. So basically, the only people who come to visit me are my family, my father and mother, and my sister Mio, who is one year younger than me.
As I was reading a light novel that my family had sent to me on my bed, there was a sudden knock at my door.

“……n, did someone come to my hospital room?”

Considering that it is now past 4:00 pm, it is unlikely to be my father or mother at work. Then, by process of elimination, Mio must have come to visit me after school.

“You may come in.”

When I answered, the door of the hospital room was opened, and I was surprised to see who came in. It was not Mio, but the Tsurugi sisters who came to see me.

“I’m sorry we came all of a sudden. Riona and I wanted to thank Yagami kun directly.”
“Thanks to you, I was saved. I really appreciate you saving my life that day.”

The words of thanks are straightforward and I was embarrassed to hear them, but I started talking with a relaxed expression on my face.

“Thank you for coming all the way out here, I’m glad you two are safe and sound.”
“Yagami kun, I’m relieved to hear you’re doing well too, I’ve been worried about you for a long time.”
“I too was worried about you for a long time.”

Apparently, the Tsurugi sisters were very worried about me. Well, it would have been natural for them to worry because it would have been too bad if the person who protected them had died.

“I can’t leave the hospital right away, but I’m recovering, and I don’t think I’ll be handicapped in any way, so don’t worry about that.”
“I see. Well, then it looks like you’re going to be all right.”
“We didn’t want you to suffer because of us.”

They were obviously relieved to hear my words. They seemed to be quite concerned about my condition after all.
The three of us then began chatting. I was nervous because I had never talked with the Tsurugi sisters before, but more than that, I was having a great time.
So I can say that the 30-minute time limit for the meeting flew by in a blink of an eye. It was one of the fastest times in my life.
Just as I was beginning to feel a sense of regret about parting with the Tsurugi sisters, the younger sister reached out her hand to me and opened her mouth.

“Hey, can I borrow your phone for a minute?”
“I don’t mind ……, but what are you going to use it for?”
“I want to register my and my sister’s contact information on your phone.”

What a big event is about to happen, exchanging contact information with a girl. I unlocked the screen and handed her the phone, and she began to operate the phone with a familiar hand.

“Yes, now that I have your phone number and registered you as a friend on LIME.”

Looking at the returned phone, I saw that Tsurugi Reona and Tsurugi Riona were indeed registered as friends on LIME, a phonebook app and chat app.

“Thanks, this is the first time I’ve exchanged contact information with a girl, so I’m kind of mildly thrilled.”
“It’s the first time for me and my sister.”

As she spoke, she still had no expression on her face, but I thought she looked happy.

“Well then, we’re going home soon. I’m looking forward to seeing you back at school.”
“See you later.”

After saying this, they slowly walked out of the hospital room. As I watched them walk away, I was inwardly excited.

“It’s like a dream come true to be able to exchange contact information with a girl.”

Until now, the only female contacts I had on my phone were my mother’s and Mio’s, but now I had two new ones, the Tsurugi sisters, who are extremely beautiful girls. How could I not be happy?
I was so happy that I doubted it was really a dream, but there was no way it was a dream because I pinched my cheek and it hurt.
After that silly thing, I started reading a light novel again. After a while, I was surprised to notice something.

“……Huh, my phone’s charge is already this low.”

I noticed that the charge, which should have been more than 90%, was down to 50%. I wondered why the charge had gone down so drastically, even though I hadn’t touched my phone once since we exchanged contact information a while ago.

“Well, I’ve been using it for quite a while now, so maybe the battery is deteriorating.”

After much thought, I came to that conclusion. At that time, I was completely unaware that a remote monitoring application had been installed on my phone that would reveal all of my personal information.
