The collaboration stream was going smoothly.

“Ha ha ha! This scene still makes me laugh even now! It was supposed to be a ‘cute monster’ theme, but the evolved version turned out so ugly that we had to have a meeting for an hour~”

On the screen, a clip was playing of Ichigo Daikyo desperately trying to convince the viewers.

“Please, just let me use it~”

With such an over-the-top reaction, she was crying her eyes out.

The video went viral under the title “The Woman Who Spent an Hour Crying While Trying to Persuade Her Viewers,” and from there, she shot to stardom.

“This stream got me interested.”

“I’m so glad I caught it live~”

“The viewers were arguing and getting really hyped up, weren’t they~”

The comment section is buzzing with nostalgic memories.

Back then, Ichigo Daikyo had just started streaming and still had a certain charm. Now, there’s no trace of that left, and it just leaves a cold, bitter aftertaste.

“Wait, I think that was the monster you recommended to me!”

“Actually, I recommended that first monster specifically so that would happen.”

“Ugh, that’s awful!! But nice! It was fun, and the stream really got lively~”

……No, that’s not it! That’s going too far, so stop doing that from now on!!”

“Got it. I won’t do it at all from now on.”

“I actually want you to keep doing it. N-no, never mind!!”

My true feelings slipped out, and I nervously checked the comment section—most people were laughing, so I breathed a sigh of relief.

The stream continued from there,

“Actually, this segment was meant to boost view counts, but the views weren’t coming in, and the likes were insane.”

“Hahaha! You really are hopeless, aren’t you!”

“Yeah. Ichigo Daikyo was amazing with that one.”

“Huh!? D-don’t just start praising me out of the blue!!”

The comment section found Ichigo Daikyo’s flustered reaction hilarious,

“Whoa~. That was a good one too! The horror game stream where you get a reward every time you encounter a ghost. My emotions were all over the place—scared yet happy—and everyone really enjoyed watching my reaction.”

“I had fun too. For that one moment, I actually thought you were cute.”

“C-cute!? Y-you’re so cheeky!! Don’t get too cocky!!”

…Watching that exchange made me want to puke, but comments like “Teehee” kept flowing in.

The collab stream kept heating up after that, with comments flowing rapidly and concurrent viewers surpassing 10,000—reaching its peak.

But what I had prepared was next and final.

The stream, and my connection with Ichigo Daikyo, were both nearing their end.

“Oh, so this is the last video…”

“Don’t look so sad.”

“I’m not! Um, is this it?”

When Ichigo Daikyo played the video, what came up was a compilation-style montage of clips from our past streams. It was something I’d put together, mainly choosing segments that included the concepts and content I’d come up with.

It was a short, one-and-a-half-minute video, but it had a very emotional atmosphere.

A summary of our journey so far.

It’s a glorious record for her, but a bitter memory for me.

“Did you make this?”

When the video ended, Ichigo Daikyo asked me.

Her voice was trembling slightly.

She must have been overcome with emotion—even I have to admit, it turned out pretty well.

It wasn’t meant as a severance payment, but since I made it with that intention, I’m genuinely happy she liked it.

“Yes. I thought it might be nice to have a video looking back on everything so far.”

“W-what, you’re just trying to act all nice!”

“I’m not really trying.”

“…I guess you’re right.”

The microphone picked up the sound of her sniffling, and the comment section—which had been filled with reactions like “What a heartwarming story”—regained the liveliness it had had just moments ago.

“Aaah, come on! Stop teasing me! That’s disrespectful!”

Ichigo Daikyo panicked, tried to cover it up, and moved on to her closing remarks.

“Alright! Well, that’s it for today! See you at the next stream—bye-bye!”

Ichigo Daikyo’s stream ended.

“Well, I’m wrapping up too. Thanks for watching.”

And with that, I ended my stream as well.

I thought about checking my comment section, but I was so exhausted that I decided to close it and look back on it later during a casual chat stream.

“It’s over.”

I stared blankly at the ceiling.

A sense of emptiness washed over me, but soon after, I was enveloped in a euphoria similar to the relief you feel after a test.

“Aaaaaah!! Finally!! It’s finally over!!”

Man, that took forever. So this is what they mean by feeling refreshed.

I started to get restless, so I stood up and headed straight for the bath, feeling elated.

I tossed my clothes aside haphazardly, jumped into the shower before the water had even warmed up, and—even though there was still some left—opened a new bottle and lavishly used a generous amount of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. I turned on the re-heating function to warm the bath, and after getting a bit dizzy from the steam, I stepped out of the bathroom.

I changed into my pajamas and returned to my room, turning on the air conditioner a little early for summer. Just as I set it to 26 degrees—which felt warmer than the room temperature—I noticed a call notification on my PC, which I’d left on.

The caller was Ichigo Daikyo. Come to think of it, I hadn’t said goodbye to her.

When I answered the call, a loud voice blared into my ear.

“Hey! Come out here right now!”

“Ichigo Daikyo. I’m never going to have anything to do with you again.”

“Huh? What do you mean?”

“Honestly, I’ve had enough. Your way of treating people and your attitude are exhausting, and I can’t deal with it anymore. So, goodbye.”

“Eh…”

I hung up and blocked her.

The last sound that lingered in my ears seemed to carry a sad resonance I’d never heard before.
