As I had been informed, Shizuku and I had come to the city’s gymnasium where the basketball team was playing.
Shizuku seemed to be confused all the way up until today.
I think it’s okay to take it easy if you’re on the receiving end of a confession, but I guess that’s not the point.
If it’s a confession from a boy you’re not interested in or don’t like, you’ll immediately cut it off, but if you have positive feelings, you’re not sure.
It’s difficult to say no to a confession and not be able to stay in the relationship you’ve been in. I guess Shizuku is too kind to turn down a confession outright.
The basketball team at my school used to be weak, but since Hirasawa Reo joined the team, it has quickly become a powerhouse.
The team has gone beyond the prefectural tournament, and if they are not good enough, they can even aim for the Inter-High School Tournament. There are not many members in the club, and they all get uniforms.
In other words, I can see Kogure kun in his uniform.
Kogure-kun said it was 50-50 whether he would be able to participate in the game since he is not a regular player, but if he does, I would definitely like to cheer for him.
The game itself was a tournament match between four schools, and it was hard for me to go there from first thing in the morning, so I had lunch before arriving at the venue.
I took Shizuku with me and went to the second floor of the match venue.
The names of my school and the opposing school were written on an electronic bulletin board nearby. The final game was about to start.
“There are a lot of people here.”
“It’s different from swimming, isn’t it?”
It was the first time I had ever been to a basketball game. I often went to watch swimming matches where my older brother Shizuru and my childhood friend Kokoro competed, but I think team sports are different.
There was a lot of cheering from our high school. Students in uniforms were all around.
I thought they were mostly girls. I looked closely at the banner they were holding, and it read “LOVEREO” on it.
Could this be?
“Huh? It’s Arisa and Shizuku”
I looked at the familiar voice. One of the girls cheering for them was Eri, a friend from the same class.
I’ve been friends with her for a long time because she looks like a gal but she’s interesting to talk to. She is a different type of girl from me and Shizuku.
Now, when I’m with someone other than Shizuku and Kogure-kun, I have to play the role of the cool Asahina Arisa.
“What are you doing here?”
“What do you mean. Cheering for Reo, of course.”
“Ah, you were approaching Hirasawa-kun, weren’t you? is this perhaps cheerleading squad?”
“Yes, they are all members of Reo’s fan club. I’ve decided that I’m going to go to every Reo’s game.”
There must be about 20 of them. They all have colorful towels and signs.
There were even girls making handmade stuffed animals. I had never expected such elaborate support for an ordinary classmate.
“I didn’t know there was such a thing as a fan club. I didn’t know Hirasawa-kun was that popular.”
“Arisa would say that?”
Eri makes a stunned face. Shizuku had the same face.
“You have a fan club, too, don’t you? I’ve heard that there are more than a hundred of them, including seniors, juniors, and teachers. I heard that Suzuki and the others in the same class are also in it.”
“Eh, I didn’t know there was such a thing. That’s new to me.”
“Arisa is not interested in that kind of thing. But you should be aware that you are the most popular student in school.”
Shizuku also received words like warnings and complaints. Having said that, there is no meaning in favors from boys who are not interested.
“What are you two doing here? Are you cheering for Reo by any chance?”
I saw Shizuku twitch and tremble.
“Of course not. I’m not interested in Hirasawa kun. I was playing with Shizuku and I saw the name of our high school, so I decided to stop by.”
“Ah~, that’s what you meant. It would be amazing if Arisa supported Reo. If it’s just the looks, it suits you.”
I’ve been told that a lot. They persistently say that Hirasawa kun is the only one who can match me.
But I have the right to choose, too, and I’m not going to act all sociable with a guy I don’t like, no matter how good he looks or how tall he is.
If I had to choose, I would choose a guy like him …… who is easy to talk to, kind, and reassuring by my side…..
“No, I’m not!”
“What?”
Both of them threw me words of questioning.
