That night, Sol went outside the inn and gazed blankly at the stars. For some reason, Sol touched the amulet that Celes had made for him. He was happy, but he didn’t understand why Celes would go to such lengths for him.

Celes was back to normal after that. A little while ago, she had been trembling so much that he wanted to do something to help her, but when he looked closer, she had cleaned everything up by herself.

All he could do was stay by her side. So why did Celes need him? No matter how much he thought about it, Sol couldn’t understand.

Then, a pair of footsteps stopped in front of Sol.

“I finally found you!”

Sol looked up at the voice and saw Siren walking straight toward him.

“Where is my sister?”

“…Why do you want to know?”

Considering the situation during the day, Sol couldn’t tell her where his sister was, so he asked her that question. He actually wanted to send her away, but he also had hopes that his sister might become Celes’ ally.

Considering what had happened so far, it seemed that Celes didn’t have any family ties, which were defined as important to her in the original story. However, there was also the matter of Carla and Audie. And even though Celes had abandoned her family, she still felt guilty and cared about them. If she could at least get along with her sister, that would be a good thing.

However, Sol’s expectations were easily dashed.

“I want her to come back for now! Without her, the house will remain in chaos! If she apologizes about the money, I’m sure Father and Mother will forgive her!”

Sol was irritated by Silen’s words. Why did she assume that Celes would apologize? Why was she looking down on her after all she had done for her?

As Sol looked at Silen with a look of disgust he couldn’t hide, Silen clapped her hands as if she had just thought of something.

“That’s right! You said your name was Sol, right? Please convince my sister to come back! My sister will listen to you!”

“Huh? No, why me…?”

“Because you’re my sister’s lover, aren’t you?”

Sol looked at Celes, wondering what she was talking about. He had wished many times to be Celes’ lover. However, the fact was that they were not lovers.

“No, what are you…”

“You can’t lie when she has made such a bold claim! she gives a small item with her family crest on it to her beloved… and by wearing it, you show everyone around you that you are lovers. It’s a famous story! But isn’t that the one on your waist?”

Sol looked at the charm he had received from Celes in surprise. He was sure he had seen the ivy pattern embroidered in green thread at Celes’s house. However, even if he searched his memory, there was no way he, a commoner with no family crest, could have known about such a custom.

Seeing Sol’s expression, Sirene looked at him with concern.

“You don’t know about that? My sister gave it to you without saying anything and made you wear it…?”

Looking at Silen, Sol’s head was in turmoil.

Sometimes, he thought that Celes might like him. However, he was far from Celes’s type, and he sometimes thought that he was just like a younger brother to her.

However, there was no way that Celes, who was from a noble family, would give him this charm without knowing about this custom. Moreover, it was Celes who attached it to the hole in his waist pocket. In other words, did Celes like him in that sense?

His heart was pounding. He was so happy, but there was another part of him that scolded him to stay calm.

Could it be that the person she had fallen in love with was “Sol” and not him? However, she had already shown her true self so many times. But even so, did she really still love him? He could never have imagined that there was someone who could love Yuto for the real him.

“What are you doing here?”

As Sol was confused, Celes came out of the inn before he knew it. Then, Celes stood between Sol and Siren as if to protect Sol.

“Ah, nee sama..!”

“Don’t involve Sol.”

With that, Celes drew her sword and pointed it straight at Siren. Siren panicked at Celes’s behavior.

“Wait, please! I didn’t do anything… I just want you to come back!”

“No. I have no intention of returning.”

“Why?! Don’t you care about your family?!”

Celes sighed softly at Sirene’s cry.

“What if I said I was tired of worrying…?”

“Nee sama, something’s wrong… You used to say that our family was important to you! Where did that sister go?”

Celes glared at Siren as she spoke.

“So, Siren, do you care about me?”

“Of course I do!”

“Then what have you done for me, someone you care about so much?”

Siren looked at Celes with confusion, as if she didn’t understand what she was saying.

“What are you talking about, nee sama? You’re part of the same family, so why would you do something in exchange for something else? That’s terrible! We’re family, connected by blood, aren’t we?”

At that moment, Celes’ eyes wavered with uncertainty. Sol thought, “No, this is no good.” Surely, her words would make Celes feel guilty for betraying her family and return her to her painful days.

Sol wished for Celes’ happiness. Regardless of whether Celes liked him or not, he wanted her to live in a peaceful place where she could laugh from the bottom of her heart.

“It’s not cruel.”

Sol instinctively held Celes’ hand and said so..
