While Lepios and Ceres were talking, Sol had fallen asleep in bed. And it was already midnight when Sol woke up.
In the futon was Celes, just like yesterday, and Sol was sleeping with his back to Celes and Celes was holding onto the clothes on Sol’s back.
Celes was unrecognizable. had she been able to hear what he and Herve were talking about? If she had heard, would she feel anything about crawling under the covers of a man who liked her?
No, she may not have actually heard him. But then, why did she act in such a way as to avoid him at that time?
Delusions that were good for himself and delusions that were bad for himself alternately flashed through his mind. After imagining something convenient for myself, another self scolds Sol, saying that there is no way she would have liked such a pathetic self.
Then time passed without sleep. Sol tries to wake up, thinking that morning has come.
“Huh? You’re up unusually early.”
“Haha. I went to bed too early last night.”
“Are you feeling better now?”
“Yes! I feel better after I went to bed!”
In truth, he was still feeling uneasy, but he couldn’t keep showing this side of himself forever. After yesterday’s conversation, he still had hopes in his heart that if he showed a different side of himself, he would be accepted, but after hiding it so much, he didn’t yet have the courage to just show it openly.
Carla would probably have a morning training session. Carla always woke up earlier than anyone else in the morning to practice her skills.
In any case, he thought, why don’t I train with her? That’s when he thought to himself
“Oh, by the way, I heard that Torsa woke up safely too! I couldn’t tell you because Sol was asleep last night.”
“Really?!”
Sol’s heart lightened up at the sound of Carla’s words. He had heard that he was okay and had seen him sleeping in a safe place. But it was still nice to hear that he had woken up.
Soon after, Sol heard from Herve, who was also awake, that Torsa was also awake, so he went straight to Torsa. When he opened the door to the room where Torsa was, Torsa looked surprised for a moment, then smiled, but for some reason looked away from Sol.
“Torsa ……?”
“Well, um, ……, thanks for coming to help me out. I’m sorry …… for bothering you.”
Sol knew by those words that he was sorry that he had become a hostage.
“What are you talking about! We’re friends! Or rather, was it a misunderstanding? It seems that they were trying to summon me, and instead, Torsa ended up getting dragged into it…”
“No, but ……”
“More importantly, how are you feeling? Is anything still hurting?”
When Sol asked that, Torsa laughed with a troubled look on his face.
“Yeah. Recovery magic is amazing. Everything is back to normal.”
“Oh, that’s good! When are you going back? It’s been a while? Well, it hasn’t been that long! But I’ve got lots of new adventures to tell you!”
At Sol’s words, Torsa somehow turned him head down.
“Torsa ……?”
“…. Hey, Sol kun, are you happy now?”
Sol did not know what Torsa meant. He was just genuinely thinking about the question Torsa had asked him.
It is true that there have been a lot of hardships. Even now, many things are troubling him. But if you ask him if he is happy or not, he is probably happy. He is in a much kinder and nicer world than in his previous life. Therefore, he had more hope for the future than in his previous life.
“Yeah, I’m happy!”
“…. I see.”
After saying that, Torsa turned his head down again. Then, after a while, he turned toward Sol as if he had made up his mind.
“Sol kun, I’m sorry. I can’t be your friend after all.”
“Eh….”
“I’m scared. I’m still afraid of what happened when I was captured by the Four Kings.”
“Oh, …….”
Sol felt as if he had been doused in cold water by those words. He had always been happy that Torsa had woken up. Even though he had acted a little uncool, he was relieved that he had been saved.
But Torsa was right. Torsa was just a powerless mob. He was in a situation he couldn’t even fight, and he was in danger of dying just because he became friends with me.
“I’m sorry ……. It’s my fault …….”
“No! It’s not your fault, Sol kun. ……! It’s just that I ……, it’s my fault …….”
Torsa was trembling as he said this, and Sol thought, oh, it’s all his fault.
It was a friend that he had made, a friend that had nothing to do with the story. And because he looked like Satoru, he got too happy and got too involved. Because he got too involved, he got himself involved in a dangerous story.
“I’m sorry. I’m really sorry. Thanks for being my friend.”
With these words, Sol left the room with Torsa.
After Sol left, Torsa stared at the door of the room, even after he was gone.
“This is all right.
I have no power.”
Torsa told himself. He knew that he was nothing more than a mobster.
“I’m sure that inside Sol, Yuto is still there. Yuto just said he was happy. I can’t ruin that happiness. I can’t make Yuto unhappy again because of me.”
He told himself that, but he could not get the sad look on Sol’s face out of his mind.
“I’m sure this is all right, right, Celes san?”
