“Now what shall we do?”

Behe’s voice echoed inside the cave as she said this happily.

Inside the cave, with the entrance completely closed off, it was pitch black and nothing could be seen. But Sol took a stealthy step forward, hoping that the conditions would be the same on the other side.

“Rock, make “

With that voice, something grabbed his foot. The something held Sol’s legs and gradually extended them, locking his entire body in place. The inorganic, hard, cold object makes Sol realize that this is something made by Behe’s magic.

“Why…”

“Too bad! This is a field for me, made of earth and rock! Wherever you go, I will know! Ha-ha-ha! But you’re not going anywhere!”

“Damn.”

He couldn’t see anything, couldn’t even tell what Torsa was up to. Sol bit his lip as he realized that he could do nothing but bet on Celes and the others to help him. This is why Celes will probably not be able to rely on him.

“Now, how long do you think you can hold out?”

Behe then begins to attack Sol.

An attack in a state where one cannot run away can do a lot of damage. It was probably a critical hit, as they say in the game.

Don’t worry. Sol tells himself. Thanks to the defensive magic, the amount of damage is considerably reduced even in the critical hit state. It hurt, but not so much that he could not stay conscious.

But Sol turns his head frantically, pretending to be in pain, trying to buy as much time as possible. The attack feels strange, and Sol utters a question

“You’re not going to kill me, are you?”

If she wanted to kill him, she should have collapsed the cave while he was immobilized. That is what she had done at the tower. Behe could have done that. But if she did not do that, there must be a reason why she did not.

Sol’s words made Behe laugh.

“Yes, you’re a bargaining chip! That’s why I wanted to leave you alone!”

“What, ……?”

“The book on how to resuscitate the dead, the book on the forbidden arts. I want that one.”

Sol was so surprised by those words that he couldn’t think straight for a moment.

“What? You were the one who did it to Samael and Paz, weren’t you?!”

“What are you talking about? I wouldn’t go out of my way to kill my revived friends.”

“Then who ……?”

“More importantly, you seem to be more energetic than I thought. Maybe you were just pretending to be defeated? Maybe I should increase my power a bit.”

At the moment he thought he had made a mistake, a loud noise came from behind him

“glare flash.”

Sol quickly closed his eyes at the sound of Lepios’ voice.

“Wait, my eyes! It hurts! It hurts!”

Perhaps a glaring light had entered her pupils, which had been dilated by the darkness. Even with her eyes closed, the glare was still slightly in her eyes.

After a slight shock, he heard the sound of something holding Sol in place crumbling.

“Sol! Are you okay!”

“Recover now……”

Sol shouted at the sound of Carla and Lepios’ voices.

“I’m fine! go to Torsa who’s further in! He’s been hit with a full force attack!”

“Okay!”

Carla and Lepios run over to Torsa. The cage made of rocks was broken and Lepios cast a recovery spell.

It will be all right now. Thinking this, Sol looked at Behe. Behe was being attacked unilaterally by Celes.

“Over and over again,……! You are the only one I will never allow ……!”

Saying so, Celes also stabbed with her sword to break the thick wall of defense that Behe had built. Behe was too busy receiving and didn’t seem to have time to create a blinding sandstorm.

Could she do it now?

Sol thought that he would join them.

“Water Prison.”

A voice that should not have been there came from behind Sol. Sol, who knew what the magic was, turned around in a hurry. There, a large body of water was coming at him in a cave with few places to escape.

“Water Prison” is Levia’s instant death magic. Once caught, the mass of water takes you in and suffocates you to death, leaving you unable to move. Of course, the movement of the mass of water is slow, and in the game, you basically cannot be caught if you are committed to running away.

But now, in this cave, where there are few places to escape, it is flying toward Celes.

“Celes! Behind you!”

Celes doesn’t notice it, even though he shouts so. Carla also noticed and tried to run to Celes, but she would not be able to get to Celes from Carla’s location in time to do anything about it.

Sol put his magic into his hands, knowing he had no choice but to do it.

“Fire Wall!”

Sol shot out a wall of flame with strong magical power to block the mass of water heading toward Celes. If it were a compatibility thing, fire on water would be the worst. But this time, it would have been better if he could protect Celes.

The moment the mass of water hits the wall of flame, a sizzling sound is heard and the water begins to evaporate. Of course, the momentum of the flames diminishes, but Sol pours in as much magical power as possible to keep the wall alive. Little by little, the mass of water became smaller.

Celes finally realizes what is going on behind her and looks at him in surprise.

“Celes! Please! Please run!”

With those words, Celes drew her sword, which was about to break the wall, and moved out of the path of the mass of water. Sol was relieved, too, and weakened the magic he had put into the wall of flames.

“I’m going to aim at you, too.”

Sol heard the voice of Levia, who was out of sight, coming from behind him. At that moment, Sol’s back, which had been slightly relaxed and unprotected, was pushed by some force. The mass of water that had replaced the trajectory of the water was now right in front of Sol’s eyes.

“Nah!”

Sol, a mage who basically shoots magic from a long distance, did not have the reflexes to avoid the attack that was right in front of him. When his brain realized that he was in trouble, he was swallowed by the mass of water.

Sol’s body was swallowed by the vortex in the mass of water, and he was unable to move. He managed to hold his breath to keep the water from entering his mouth, but his breathing gradually became labored and he opened his mouth involuntarily.

“If you want to help him…”

Sol lost consciousness as he vaguely heard Levia’s voice.
