In the principal’s office, the principal and vice principal were facing each other with somber expressions on their faces.

While the morning classes were going on in the school building, the two were discussing the Kisaragi family incident and Shinonome Tohru, who is now the subject of a huge flame war on the Internet.

“How could this have happened…..”

The principal held his head in his hands and lamented the tragic situation.

A reporter from a major newspaper wrote an article about the incident at the Kisaragi family, picking up the tragedy that happened to the victim, Shinonome Tohru, and published it on the Internet.

The article immediately went up in flames, and the school was blamed for not covering up for Shinonome Tohru.

[A shitty high school with a hidden constitution]

[I would never send my child to this school.]

[All the teachers and staff should be fired.]

[The educators who knew there were students being bullied and didn’t do anything about it are really finished.]

[All the teachers at this high school need to relearn their morals before teaching others.]

If you do a little research, you will find a mountain of invective from the netizens that are being hurled at this high school in regards to this incident.

If nothing is done, the flames will continue to spread and the school’s bad reputation will continue to grow.

The principal was quick to do something about it.

The principal was beginning to think that if something was not done soon, there might be a drastic drop in enrollment next year.

“The fire is only getting bigger instead of being extinguished…something must be done…”

“Well…the public is very sensitive to such words as [bullying] and [false accusation] these days…”

“It’s the evil of the information society…..but we have to live with it……if we don’t show the world that we have done something about it in an easy-to-understand way, we will be demonized as an evil educational institution that is in the process of being covered up…”

“There is no doubt about it…….what should we do? Since the public seems to sympathize with Shinonome Tohru…..what would you do?”

“Hm…well, I suppose that would be reasonable.”

The principal and vice principal thought that in order to quell the flames, they should first punish those who abused  Shinonome Tohru and publicize it to the world.

“First of all….we need to check the facts and thoroughly roast those who have done any direct harm to Shinonome Tohru…”

“Well…so far, according to the article, it seems certain that Shinonome kun was subjected to violent acts such as lynching in the club activities……it says so in the interview article.’

“I see……..I don’t care about swearing, but violence is not good…then let’s start from that point and apply sanctions first.”

“Yes, that would be a good idea.”

In order to put out the fire, the principal and vice principal began to select those who had abused Shinonome Tohru who had behaved excessively and deserved to be sanctioned.

“Risa…? Are you all right?”

“Yeah…I’m fine…”

Asakura, who had hit Risa, became teary-eyed and left the classroom.

It seems like she was pretty shocked that I was about to hit her.

Thanks to Risa, I managed to suppress the rage inside me and didn’t hit Asakura.

When Asakura hit Risa, I really wanted to hit Asakura as hard as I could.

I probably would have done it if Risa hadn’t stopped me.

But Risa stopped me just in time.

Thanks to her, I didn’t get expelled.

“Thank you for stopping me…If I had kept going like that, I think I would have probably hit Asakura…”

When I look at it calmly, I realize at once how bad what I was going to do was.

No matter how much Asakura punched Risa, if I, a man, had punched Asakura with all my might, there is a possibility that I would have caused irreversible injury.

If that happened, I probably wouldn’t be able to get away with just a suspension.

Rumors would have spread in the blink of an eye, and I would have been treated as a bad guy again.

The public opinion that had been on my side thanks to Saito san’s article could have been turned on its head if I had committed a violent incident.

“Yeah……I’m really glad you stopped……If Tohru got expelled from school……I couldn’t do anything about it…”

“I’m really sorry… you talked back to Asakura for me and I couldn’t……protect you…”

“It’s nothing. The pain has already subsided,…….”

Risa said that with a smile, but her cheeks were red and slightly swollen from being hit by Asakura.

“Let’s go to the infirmary, Risa. I’ll take you with me…”

“Eh, it’s okay, it’s nothing.”

“No, it’s not okay, it’s swollen. You need to have it treated properly. Look…”

“Y-yeah…okay.”

I helped Risa to stand up and took her to the infirmary.

A few days have passed since then.

During this time, Asakura did not get involved with me.

I did not participate in club activities and just went about my school life solemnly.

The flames of the fire grew louder and remained unquenched, and the Internet was filled with abusive language directed at the students who had abused me and at the school.

Students avoided approaching me poorly for fear of being the target of criticism.

I was treated like a tumor in a different way than before, but I knew that with Risa and Hayato I would be fine.

……It was during one of those days.

One day I was abruptly called to the principal’s office by the school announcement.

“Excuse me…”

“Oh, you’re here ! Shinonome kun ! Come on, come in ! ! !”

“…?”

I knocked on the principal’s office and entered, and there was the principal, then the vice principal, my homeroom teacher, the head of the school year, the coach, and the junior and senior members of the club that I recognized.

“…..”

“Ah…Toru…”

“Tsk…”

Among them was Asakura’s face, and I unintentionally clicked my tongue in front of the principal, but he didn’t seem to mind and gave me a beaming smile.

“I apologize for calling you out of the blue. First of all, let me apologize. I believe we at the school are responsible for your being bullied. Let me apologize for that first.”

“…”

I was taken aback when the principal suddenly bowed to me, a student.

I looked around at the people who had been summoned here today and wondered what was going on. The homeroom teacher, coach and club members looked down awkwardly when their eyes met mine.

The Principal apologize to Tohru? COLOR ME IMPRESSED!! Still, I think He did all of that out of Self-Preservation. Can’t wait to see what He’s going to talk to Tohru about? Begging for forgiveness? Or is something else?
