I got to class, but there were fewer people. That’s because Shibamura’s group was gone. Apparently, after that, Shibamura and her group got called into the teacher’s office and confessed everything they’d been up to.

They blamed everything on Shibamura, saying they had no recollection of my plot twist payoff operation. That’s why only Shibamura got a longer suspension period, or so they say.

Shibamura kept insisting I did it, but thanks to the teachers siding with me, his claims didn’t hold up. That plot resolution strategy was pretty awesome, huh? It worked out so perfectly it’s almost scary.

I couldn’t care less about those guys now. Besides, it’s obvious there’ll be watchful eyes everywhere from now on, so I won’t be able to do anything.

And next time, I won’t solve it with such a soft approach.

Well then, I guess I’ll head over to Saotome’s place as usual today.

“Nasunasu”

“Aasu”

huh? Using that here really feels like classic Saotome. Seems there are still realms I haven’t reached yet.

“How’s it going? Are you shaking?”

“I’m already shaking like crazy. I’ve gotten really good at rapid-fire games.”

“I can mince stuff like a pro now too.”

“Do you ever shake like this in this heat?”

“Wonder what happens when winter comes?”

Others probably have no clue what we’re talking about, but we’re discussing the final exams. Just two people terrified of finals, shaking the whole time. Listen to that conversation knowing that—it’s genuinely pointless.

We’re joking around, but this might actually be bad. It might be rare for a reincarnated person, but I have no knowledge from my previous life and can’t utilize any of the advantages of reincarnation. Other reincarnated people would probably laugh at me if they saw this.

So here I am, trembling in fear over the final exams. Midterms? …No memory of them. If this test is bad, there’ll be remedial classes, so I really need to pass the finals somehow.

“Any plans?”

“I’m thinking of pulling an all-nighter.”

Before my reincarnation, I pulled tons of all-nighters… gaming. How many times do you think that messed up my sleep schedule? But even if it did, it wouldn’t matter since I never go outside anyway.

“But there’s always the chance we’ll just fall asleep, you know?”

“That possibility is very real.”

It really shouldn’t be that real, though. Besides, I’ve heard pulling all-nighters is just a temporary fix, and you end up having to study it all over again. So I’d rather skip the all-nighter.

“Should we ask someone smart for help?”

“Is there anyone smart in this class?”

“If we look, probably.”

Here, I came up with a super genius idea. Want me to teach you? Hmm… what should I do? Alright, I’ll make an exception and teach you.

We’ll have a study session with the heroines.

That way, I can study and boost my favorability with Saotome—killing two birds with one stone. How about it? Think I’m a genius?

If I raise favorability with Saotome now, it’ll help even if things don’t go according to the original story. The more favorability you have, the better, right? It never goes to waste.

With that decided, I’ll propose it to Saotome right away.

“I know some great people.”

“Who?”

“Sarasa-chan and Haruka-chan.”

“Ah~ You’ve been hanging out with them a lot lately, huh?”

Yeah, that’s right. I might even talk to those two more than they do. But it doesn’t matter, because Saotome has higher favorability with them than I do. With the keychain and the stranded incident, she’s definitely conscious of Saotome.

Huh? Wait, is this guy jealous because I talk to them too much? You’ve got your cute moments, but relax. Eventually, those two will be hooked on you, so just hang in there for now.

“It’s okay to ask them out, right? I’ll make sure to ask them properly.”

If you told him to ask, he might just say “Sure, I guess,” so I decided I’d ask them myself.

“You just want to study with girls, don’t you?”

“That’s part of it.”

I’ll be honest here.

“But everyone around us is an idiot. What’s the point of hanging out with more idiots?”

“True.”

“Alright, I’ll go ask them.”

“Yeah, if they say no, I’ll just laugh it off.”

“You’ll lose out too, you know.”

But don’t worry, if I mention your name, everyone will come.

Who should I start with? Maybe just the new kid sitting nearby.

“Sarasa-chaaaan. Good morning~”

“Good morning.”

I sit in the seat in front of the new kid, leaning the backrest forward—a seating style only the popular kids are allowed. Truth be told, I kinda wanted to try it myself. I’m glad I can pull it off.

“Actually, I have something to discuss.”

“What? …Hold on, that vibe? It’s probably just a normal request, right?”

She’s got Mizuno Shota’s traits down pat, as expected. I figured if I asked normally, she’d probably refuse, so I deliberately put on a solemn face, but she saw right through me.

“~ I can’t beat you, Sarasa-chan.”

“So, what is it? What do you need?”

“Well, I’m not great at studying, so I was wondering if you could help me out…”

“You could’ve just asked normally.”

I did it as a strategy because I’m not Saotome and there was a chance I’d get turned down, but apparently just asking normally would’ve been fine.

“So, you’re in?”

“Not sure if I can help, but sure. Besides, I owe you one, Mizuno.”

“Obligation?”

Huh? Did I do something? I don’t remember doing anything that would make her feel grateful to me.

“Well, the Shibamura thing.”

“Ah~ but Haruka-chan handled most of it, so you don’t need to feel obligated to me.”

“But that was—”

“Besides, Onee san. We’ve got our No. 1, Saotome, too.”

Honestly, you really don’t need to feel indebted about that incident. I ended up helping late because I was only thinking about myself, and it was all thanks to Hisada-chan anyway. You should thank her more than me.

Above all, I need to tell her that Saotome is coming. I whispered it in her ear, and I could see her face flush red instantly. She must have been so embarrassed that I knew about her crush. But it was obvious anyway.

“Well, take care~”

Having said what I needed to say, I stood up from my seat and decided to head over to Hisada-chan next.

Hisada-chan is going to be tough~. The problem is that I’m the one asking her out. If Saotome asked, it’d be a sure thing, but since I said I’d ask, there’s no helping it. Still, mentioning Saotome’s name should work this time too, right?

“Haruka-chaaan. How are you~?”

So, since I liked that sitting position I did earlier, I’ll do it again this time. It looks pretty cool, you know.

“…What?”

“Hey~ don’t be so wary, okay?”

“I’m not. Just get to the point.”

“Well, that’s good. I have a small favor to ask. Will you listen?”

“Depends on what it is.”

Still doesn’t waste words, huh. That’s what makes her cute, though.

“Actually, I’m not that great at studying myself, so I was wondering if you could lend me a hand, Haruka-chan?”

“You want me to tutor you?”

“Yep.”

“I’ll think about it.”

“Think about it,” huh. I absolutely need her to come, so I’ll have to pull out my secret weapon.

“Don’t worry, nee san. I’ve got Saotome on board too, so I’ll make sure to meet your expectations.”

“Too close!”

“Ow!”

I was way too close, so Hisada-chan’s signature toe kick landed right on my shin. It wasn’t that hard, but it hurt a bit—proof that it really is the Achilles’ heel.

If it were anyone but Hisada-chan, I couldn’t take it, but since it’s her, I can handle it easily. Honestly, it even makes me happy.

“…You’re too close.”

“I misjudged the distance.”

I’d assumed she’d take it as a joke, but it seems I misjudged the distance. I thought we were a bit closer than we actually are. I need to adjust my thinking.

“I’ll message you whether I’m coming or not.”

Right, I have Hisada chan’s contact info. Hisada-chan will message me? I’m happy.

“Thanks.”

I don’t know if she’ll actually come, but I should tell Saotome about the current situation.

Ping!

My phone buzzed.

Going.

That was all written in Hisada-chan’s message.

How cute.
