Today, I went to the first shrine visit of the year with nii chan and nee chan
There were so many people at the shrine! nii chan and nee chan held my hand tightly so I wouldn’t get lost. Their hands were warm, and I was so happy!
We put in our offerings and made wishes. I wished for a new toy! nee chan and niichan closed their eyes and seemed to be making wishes that were a bit difficult. I wonder what they wished for?
When we drew our fortune slips, nee chan got “Daikichi”! She jumped up and down and shouted, “Yay!” It was so cute. I got “Chukichi,” and it said that my family would be healthy, so I was happy. Nii chan got “Suekichi,” but nee chan laughed and said, “As long as Hikaru is here, everything will be fine!”
Then we ate some delicious food! There was something warm and sweet like tea, and nee chan told me it was “amazake.” At first it smelled a bit strange, but when I drank it, it was sweet and delicious! It warmed me up.
We also ate takoyaki! nii chan listened to Sakine’s request. We blew on it and shared it with everyone.
Finally, I wrote, “May everyone be happy,” on the paper. My nii chan and nee chan also wrote something, but it’s a secret! Both of them were a little shy, which was funny.
It was the best New Year’s visit to the shrine with nee chan and nii chan! I want to go again next year with everyone!
