Episode 23 – secret

As I was in the worst mood, Nanahoshi, who turned around as I did, said.

“Eeeh!? A-a very beautiful woman! I mean, isn’t she too stylish? Eh, you know Magiri?!”

If you call the relationship in which we happened to meet in the library and were forcefully given tickets to the tournament an acquaintance, then we are acquaintances, but I don’t know if I would call it an acquaintance or not.

“It’s somewhere between a stranger and an acquaintance.”

As I said this, the light blue-haired woman moved to the front of the room, across the desk from me and Nanahoshi, and said.

“You’re really shy to say such a thing~ you’re close enough to me that you’re coming to watch my tournament, aren’t you?”

“You forced me to come and you talk to me like that ────Ah yeah.”

I remembered something from what I had just said, took out something from my pocket and offered it to the woman with the light blue paper and said.

“Here, I’ll give it back.”

“Returning it? it’s already yours, okay?”

“I never said I would accept it.”

“Hmmm~? But are you sure? These tickets are very hard to get, you know?”

“Yes, I didn’t look through the tickets and I don’t know what kind of tournament it is in the first place, so even if I have it, it’s a treasure trove.”

When I said that, the light blue-haired woman said, “Eh~? You haven’t seen it!?” Then she continued.

“These are tickets to a swim tournament I’m going to in a week’s time.”

I wasn’t particularly interested in the swim tournament …… I see.

So this light blue-haired woman must be a swimmer.

As I was analysing this, Nanahoshi, who had been silent for a while next to me, said

“Why did you give that swimming competition ticket to Magiri?”

“I gave a ticket to a girl friend and only had one left, so I thought I’d like a boy to cheer for me, but I don’t know any boys at all, so even though it’s a tournament, I don’t know much. Isn’t it embarrassing when a boy sees you swimming in a swimsuit? It wouldn’t bother me if it was someone I really didn’t know, but if we went to the same school, it feels real, so I gave it to Magiri who is interested in sports as a gift from onee san”

“Eh…? Now that we’re talking about it, Magiri and you go to the same school, so it’s probably not that good, right?”

“Yeah, that was just if he was a normal boy.”

The two of them were talking about whatever they were talking about, but there was one word that I couldn’t let go of, so I opened my mouth and said.

“I’m a normal guy too, so I don’t think it’s a good idea to give me a ticket like Nanahoshi said”

I’m a normal guy in school in every way, if I had to say so, the only thing that might not be normal is the fact that I’m involved with Nanahoshi, the popular girl in class, but other than that I’m normal, so I shouldn’t be able to argue with this.

To me thinking this, the light blue-haired woman said.

“No, you are not a normal boy.”

“Which is not normal?”

“It’s a ──── secret.”

The light blue-haired woman gave a small smile as she said this.

Secret …… is the most awkward answer for me.

If there really is something unusual about me, I need to make that part of me normal now so I can pretend to be ordinary.

“Well, I’ve given you a ticket, but it’s your choice if you want to come or not.”

…… I thought she was going to ask me to come, but it seems I’m free to do that part.

If that is the case, there is no reason for me to go to a swimming competition of one her, with whom I have little to do, so I will not go────

“No matter how much you call it a competition, you’re going to see me in my swimming costume, and I can’t force you to do it because, for a boy, maybe my swimming costume would be too stimulating for you.”

When the light blue-haired woman said that, Nanahoshi, who is standing next to me, said.

“S-surely ……! Magiri! If you see her in a swimming costume, it might make Magiri feel strange, so you shouldn’t go there!”

After that, I taught Nanahoshi maths ────, but my head was full of thoughts about the swimming competition.

Should I go watch the swim competition or not?

After much thought ──── I decided to go and watch the swim competition because I predicted that if I didn’t go and watch the swim competition, Nanahoshi and the woman with the light blue hair would keep saying something about it in the future.

But anyone would go to watch a swimming competition, so I just watched the competition as a normal spectator there.

That’s all I need to do to be ordinary…….That thought calmed my mind somewhat.
