“I think the water temperature in the pool is just right.”
“It’s a heated pool, so it’s nice that it’s not too cold.”
That was my reaction when I saw Kano san mumbling something like that as she was sticking her index finger into the surface of the pool. I still remember how I hesitated to enter the pool during swimming lessons in elementary and junior high school because the water was too cold.
Then the teacher would tell me to get in the pool as soon as possible, and I was set. This was just as traumatic as the shower from hell. So it was understandable that many of my classmates skipped pool class for any reason.
“Let’s just go to the flowing pool for now.”
“Sure, let’s go.”
“Then, please show me the way.”
To my surprise, Kano san suddenly crossed her arms and came in close contact with me. The reason for this was that she was hitting me in various places.
“W-what’s wrong with you all of a sudden !?”
“Look, it’s pretty crowded, so I thought we might lose each other.”

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with holding hands just to make sure we don’t get separated. As I was thinking about this, Kano san opened her mouth with a typical attitude and expression.

It’s a foul play. I’m sure there’s no man in this world who can say no to being told something like that. Kano san and I, arm in arm, begin to move towards the outdoor flowing pool area.
“Speaking of which, Yuito, do you go to an open campus during summer vacation?”
“This year I have an assignment to go to an open campus and compile a report, so I plan to go to at least one.”

Waseda University is one of the most difficult private universities in Japan, which Kano san also attends. Heisei University is one rank below Waseda University, but it is also a very popular and difficult private university among students taking entrance exams.
Incidentally, Waseda University is my challenge school and Heisei University is my first choice. It is still fresh in my memory that I got a D from Waseda University and a B from Heisei University in a mark test I took a while ago.
“Anyway, come to my campus, I’ll show you around.”
“If Kano san can show me around, that sounds like fun.”
“Well, I guess it’s decided then. You can sign up on the website, so you’ll have to do it again later.”

And so one of my summer vacation plans was set. While we were talking, we arrived at the flowing pool, rented two-person floats, and started to get swept away.

I grabbed Kano san’s hand and climbed onto the float. In the past, I would have been embarrassed before grabbing Kano san’s hand, but that was not the case now.
This must have something to do with the fact that Kano san and I have become closer. At the same time, a question came to my mind.
If it had been Suzuno instead of Kano san, would I have been able to grab her hand without embarrassment? As I was getting lost in my own world and beginning to think about it, Kano san gently bumped me.
“Since you’re on a date with me, it’s against the rules to think about other girls.”
“……Eh, how did you know !?”
“You could say it’s a woman’s intuition.”
A woman’s intuition is scary. No, she was able to identify when I was in close contact with Suzuno just by smell before, so maybe Kano san is just special. Either way, it might be better to assume that I can’t hide anything in front of Kano san.
