After a short break, the meeting resumed.
“First, let’s check the parts of each member’s instrument.”
Ari san wrote down the parts on the whiteboard.
Arii: Bass & Vocals
Kingo: guitar
Ryoko: keyboard
Shino: drums
That’s pretty much what we talked about. Ryoko, however, raised a question.
“Is it okay for Ari chan, who is new to musical instruments, to be the bass vocalist? It is quite difficult to sing while playing the bass guitar.”

The bass guitar is often thought of as an easy instrument to play, but it is an important instrument that must be played accurately to create rhythm. It is difficult to beat accurately while singing.

My keyboard was given to me by a retired band member. It’s used, but it’s a quality instrument, so it’s good enough to use for live performances.
“What about the drum set? I wonder if I have room for it at my house…….”

“You don’t need to buy a drum set, Senpai. It’s hard to find a place to put it, and it’s also hard to move it every time you practice.”
If you want to get serious about playing drums, you can buy a drum set for practice, but she was under the assumption that it would only last until the next festival.
“You can buy a stick, but when practicing at home, use practice swings or a dummy made from a magazine. If you want to beat the real thing, use a rental studio at a music store, etc, but…..”

“I’ve got some special information ! Hokusei University has its own studio.”

“The drums were donated by senior members of the old light music club when they graduated, and are now the property of the student council.”

The meeting proceeded under the direction of Ari san.
The instrumental parts have been decided, but the band also needs to play a behind-the-scenes role. We are going to decide on those roles now.
“The roles that need to be filled are accounting, public relations, and management.”
“Yes, I’ll do PR ! I’ll create the official Instagram and X !”
Of course, it was Ari san who was so enthusiastic that she decided to run for the position. I’m sure that Ari san, who seems to like outgoing things, is the right person for the job. She has a lot of friends.

Mainly, I’ll manage the band’s activities in general. My main job is to arrange a studio for practice and negotiate with the band to perform at events. Nobuhiko was in charge of this during his time at Lyconess, so I know what I’m doing.
“Next is accounting. I’ll do—“
“I’ll do that.”
Ryoko interrupted me and raised her hand.
“Kingo has the things to manage, so I’ll do it. Besides…”
“Besides?”
“I’m afraid to trust you with the band’s rights.”

I’m unwilling to say anything about it. Am I that untrusted if it’s related about rights?
“Don’t say you’ve forgotten. What did you promise Nobuhiko?”

That’s right…… Last year, when I was kicked out of Liyconess, Nobuhiko almost gave me the rights to use his songs.
I was told to consult with her before making any future contracts, although Ryoko prevented that from happening.
