“What do you mean, ‘what kind of relationship’? We just met today, didn’t we?”

Hanazawa froze in place for a moment, as if time had stopped.

“I’m not in a position to do something like this… I’m sorry.”

She wilted, looking dejected. Her fragile appearance reminded me of a withered flower hanging its head, so I frantically waved my hands.

“I-I don’t really get it! Don’t be down! ”

“Ibusuki-kun…”

“Yeah, um, well! Look! You were super cute yesterday too, and I’m sure everyone loves the cheerful Hanazawa-san!”

It was like a withered flower suddenly regained its color and bloomed into a flower so red it was almost too much.

Her sweet, sticky gaze seemed to take on a physical form as it licked my skin, and her long, beautiful white fingers gently traced my cheek.

“H-Hanazawa-san?”

“……Huh!?”

Hanazawa-san’s eyes widened; she pulled her hand back and coughed twice, making it look deliberate.

“R-Right, I guess. I have to act normal.”

Hanazawa-san muttered that and returned to her usual self.

“Ahaha! Right! Sorry for asking such a weird question!”

Just like always.

I still had some doubts about her behavior a moment ago, but seeing Hanazawa-san’s lovely smile put my mind at ease.

But that relief was short-lived. “Just like always” meant “just like always,” and I’d forgotten about the thing that made my heart race.

Hanazawa-san leaned in close, her mouth forming a mischievous “ω” shape, and my heart leapt.

“Is that kind of girl your type?”

“N-no, not really…”

“You’re flustered, aren’t you? Hit the nail on the head?”

I’m flustered because Hanazawa-san’s beautiful face is so close!

I was too embarrassed to say that out loud. The sweet scent of a girl drifted over, and my heart began to race.

“She was pretty cute, wasn’t she?”

“W-well, she was cute, I guess…”

“Huh, I see. I see.”

“That’s not it, okay!?”

“Come on, come on. We shouldn’t be standing here chatting, you know.”

She placed a hand on my shoulder and pushed me into the classroom. Then she made me sit down at Hanazawa-san’s desk right next to her.

Ugh, I really didn’t feel anything at all for Kuroi, but now she thinks I do.

I sighed inwardly, hoping no weird rumors would start and cause trouble.

“So, what’s that girl’s name?”

“She said her name was Kuroi Amana…”

“Huh? Amana? We went to the same school?”

“Do you know her?”

When I asked, Hanazawa sat sideways at her desk.

Her dazzling, dewy thighs caught my eye, and I quickly looked up.

“Yeah. She’s a junior on the basketball team. But it’s surprising—she didn’t seem like the ‘little devil’ type at all.”

“Oh, really?”

“Yeah. She was serious, hardworking, and a good kid. Well, she didn’t get very good at basketball, though.”

Serious and hardworking, huh.

I wish she’d switch places with Ichigo Daikyo.

“Hmm. But this should be fine. After all, we went to the same kindergarten, elementary school, and junior high. No matter how hard she tries, it won’t end up like yesterday.”

“Huh? What do you mean?”

“Oh, never mind. It’s my business. Don’t worry, it has nothing to do with you, Ibusuki-kun.”

Sigh. Well, I don’t really get it anyway, so if Hanazawa-san says so, I’ll just go with that.

But, yesterday, huh.

“Oh, I forgot to mention this, Hanazawa-san. Thanks for yesterday.”

“Huh?”

I continued, looking at Hanazawa-san, who looked completely bewildered.

“The cake and the drinks were delicious. I probably wouldn’t have gone on my own, so I was really happy. Thanks.”

Those were my true feelings.

Honestly, I could do without any more apologies for a while, but I am grateful that she apologized. Regardless of the outcome, the gesture itself made me happy.

“……Ibusuki-kun, even though that’s the case…”

Hanazawa-san bit her lip and looked at me with eyes full of determination.

“You’re welcome! You can count on me next time! I’ll definitely make it happen!”

“Wait, what? What are you talking about?”

What’s going on with Hanazawa-san’s emotions lately?

Maybe I should seriously think about it for a moment.

Just as I thought that, my phone vibrated.

I took it out of my pocket and saw a new message. The sender was Ichigo Daikyo.

[If you forget about the collab stream, it’s death.]

Sigh. I guess I’ll deal with this first.

The stream is the most important thing. Even if it’s with someone I don’t like, it’s a huge chance to gain viewers. I absolutely have to make this a success.

“Oh, right. Ibusuki-kun, you haven’t met any girls other than Amana today, have you?”

“Hm? Of course not.”

“Oh, good.”

“Are you… okay?”

“With what?”

I shook my head at Hanazawa-san, who was tilting her head in confusion, to signal that everything was fine.

It seemed better not to press the issue. Or rather, I didn’t want to press it because I’d be in trouble if she apologized to me again.

“Well then, Hanazawa-san.”

“Okay!!”

I got up from Hanazawa-san’s seat.

Once I was back at my own seat, I pulled out my phone and replied to Ichigo Daikyo’s message.
