“Can I talk to you about Hazuki?”
Otonashi-san is a person who can be called a close friend of Hazuki. When I talked to Hazuki a long time ago, she told me that she and Otonashi had been friends since kindergarten.
They seemed to have been in the same boat since they were little and followed the same path until they reached high school.
I also have a best friend who I have been close with since elementary school, though not as far back as kindergarten. He went to the same high school as me, but unfortunately we are in different classes, so we rarely see each other at school.

“I understand. Can we meet on the roof at lunchtime?”

If the lie gets out and she starts spreading nasty rumors about me, my place will be gone in no time, as I am not well-liked.

“Sorry for getting you into trouble.”
“Wha, you heard me.”
“Yes, you’ve been having some weird fantasies, but don’t worry. And I don’t want to talk about your breakup with Hazuki.”
“Ha? You said that’s what you were talking about in the morning. Did you deceive me?”
I said in a slightly angry tone.
“Stop saying that I deceived you. It’s not a trick, it’s just that Hazuki is involved.”
“Then let’s get this over with. I honestly don’t want anything to do with Hazuki anymore. I just want to forget about it.”
“So you don’t have any more feelings for her?”
“Of course I do!”
I replied with a biting tone. It’s not very mature.
“Ara, you’re not as pathetic as I thought you’d be. I didn’t expect that.”
“I’m sorry. I’m a stubborn guy. I dumped her on my own, and it was selfish.”
“Yes, you’re right.”
I wanted her to deny it.
“But I think it’s fine. Because I like a devoted person. If there was someone who said he would always love me, I would never let him go.”
