From Goryokaku Park we took a bus to the city centre and we arrived at the Kanamori Red Brick Warehouse.

It is cold outside, but Hina is as energetic as ever.

The red-brick buildings stand out in the snowy landscape and have a somewhat exotic atmosphere.

“Wow, it has a great atmosphere! Is this really Japan?”

Hina looks up at the building with a twinkle in her eye.

“Sure, it looks like it’s overseas. But it’s a warehouse built in the Meiji era.”

I replied as I looked around too.

The place has a sense of history, but is now a tourist destination lined with fashionable shops and cafes.

While walking slowly looking at such scenery, Hina was staring at the glasswork displayed at the storefront.

“This is so cute. …… Hikaru, look!”

She pointed to a crystal ornament with a snowflake motif.

It sparkled and shone, as if real snowflakes were trapped inside.

“It’s beautiful, but isn’t it a bit expensive?”

I look at the price tag and am surprised.

It’s certainly elaborate, but it’s a tough price for my wallet.

“Yeah, but I’m probably happy just to look at it! I like the way it glows.”

Hina says, smiling. Her expression looked even more radiant than the ornament.

“If you like it, maybe we could buy one as a keepsake?”

I suggested, and Hina gave a small shake of her head.

“No, it’s a commemoration that we’re going around here together today. That’s enough.”

When she said that, I felt a little embarrassed.

When I touch Hina’s purity, my heart naturally becomes warm.

We got a little cold from walking around and decided to stop by the café in the warehouse.

The interior is decorated with antique furniture and warmed by a wood-burning stove.

The wood-burning stove was warm, and our snow-cold bodies melted away gradually.

“Hot chocolate, so sweet!”

Hina smiles as she holds the cup in both hands.

Her cheeks are slightly red, and I don’t think it’s just because of the cold.

“Hina likes sweet things?”

I ask while sipping my café latte.

“Yes, I like it. But I think I’ve never had one this thick before. Do you want to try some too?”

Hina holds out her cup towards me.

“Eh, no, it’s fine. I’ll drink my own.”

I was upset and refused, but Hina looked a little miffed.

“Maybe you care about indirect kissing or something?”

That comment completely upsets me, and I almost spill my latte.

“W-why would I be? I just don’t like things that are too sweet.”

When I desperately tried to defend myself, Hina chuckled and drank her hot chocolate again.

Leaving the warehouse district, we decided to walk along the harbour.

The sea wind was cold, but the snow-covered path was somewhat magical and the trail of footprints was beautiful.

“Hey, Hikaru. Why is snow so beautiful?”

Hina stopped and received the snow falling from the sky in the palm of her hand, and muttered.

“Because it reflects light, doesn’t it? Snow itself is transparent, but when it piles up it looks white.”

I tried to give a scientific explanation, but Hina tilted her head.

“No, it’s not that, it’s because looking at it …… calms you down, isn’t it?”

I was at a loss for an answer to those words.

Hina’s profile was as pure as the whiteness of the snow, and somehow ephemeral.

“The reason why the snow looks so beautiful is surely because the person looking at it is pure.”

The words came out naturally, but Hina looked at me as if she were surprised.

“…… Eh, what’s that all of a sudden?”

Seeing Hina blush and laugh, I hurriedly changed the subject.

“let’s go.”

When I said that and started walking, Hina followed a little behind me.

“……Thank you, Hikaru.” The words she muttered in a small voice were muffled by the snow.
