The auditorium of the gymnasium was filled with enthusiasm and excitement.
Colorful lights illuminated the stage and the cheers of the audience echoed through the ceiling.
I, Matsumura Hina, was in the midst of the hustle and bustle with my younger sister, Sakine.
“Wow! Nee chan, it’s just like a real live performance!”
Sakine’s eyes were shining as she gazed at the stage.

The audience clapped in unison, and Hikaru on stage put even more passion into the music.

Sakine held her hands high in the air and clapped with all her might.
“That was amazing, Nee chan! That was really cool, Hikaru Onii chan!”

I was repeating his name over and over in my mind as I clapped too.
Hikaru kun, I too, more – or so I thought.
As I was thinking that, my phone beeped.
[Meet me in front of the gymnasium.]
I was a little nervous at the message from Hikaru.
“Hikaru onii chan, he said he would be waiting for me in front of the gymnasium.”
I told Sakine and headed to the front of the gymnasium to find Hikaru already there.
Sakine ran up to Hikaru with a happy look on her face.
“Onii chan, that was amazing!”

“Did you see it too, Hina?”
“Yes. it was amazing.”
“Thanks.”
I was so happy to see Hikaru smiling a little embarrassed by my words, and I felt the anxiety I had been carrying in my heart eased just a little bit.

I also realized that in order to be next to such an amazing person, I had to change as well.
I thought I had changed a little, but that was not enough.
