While bobbing in the water on a float, Sakine’ chans eyes were glued to yet another pool.
“Next, over there! I want to go to that pool with the waves!”
Sakine-chan’s one voice, made us move on.
In the wave pool, large waves periodically rise, and we enjoyed laughing as we were rocked by the waves.
Sakine-chan jumped into the waves and played, while Hina was a little surprised by the waves, but enjoyed herself with us.
It was late afternoon, and as expected we were getting hungry, so we decided to take a break and have a light lunch. We ordered hot dogs and shaved ice at the snack corner by the pool, and sat down at a table with Hina and Sakine-chan.
“Phew, after all, being in the water makes you hungry, doesn’t it?”
“Really. We’ve been moving since this morning.”
“Sakine-chan, you have shaved ice all over your face.”
“Eh? Where is it?”
Sakne-chan wiped her face in a hurry, and Hina and I laughed again at her appearance.
Spending time together like this is really fun and makes my heart feel relieved.
Unlike the morning when Hina and Sakine and I were enjoying the pool together, the sun was shining high in the sky and Hina and I were sitting by the pool taking a rest. Sakine-chan was swimming energetically in the pool, as if she still had plenty of energy.
“Phew, pools are fun after all.”
Hina said as she relaxed, and I nodded and replied, ‘Yeah, really’.
Hina drank some water, reapplied her sunscreen and spent some time relaxing by the pool.
“Maybe we can swim again in a little while?”
“Yeah, I think I’ll just relax here for a little while longer.”
Saying this, Hina got up to walk along the poolside, and when she had taken a few steps, she suddenly slipped on her feet.
“Waa!”
Hina shouted in surprise and almost fell down, losing her balance.
At that moment, I reflexively reached out and grabbed Hina’s shoulder and supported her body.
“Hina, are you alright?”
I called out in concern, and Hina’s eyes widened in surprise, but my support managed to prevent her from falling. Her body leaned against me, and the warmth and softness of her body felt so close and different from usual that my heart started pounding.
We looked at each other with our faces close together in that position for a while.
“I’m sorry, I was so surprised. ……”
Hina turned a little red and hurriedly tried to adjust her position, but she still looked a little unsteady.
I smiled and said, ‘It’s okay, be careful,’ as I gently supported Hina.
“Thank you, Hikaru …….”
Hina said, and when we suddenly looked at each other, her face was flushed.
But I quit teasing her because I probably would have pointed it out, but I probably would have done the same.
“…… let’s rest here for a bit and then swim again, shall we?”
“……Yeah, let’s do that.”
I decided to sit and rest by the pool for a while until Hina calmed down.
Hina sat next to me and had a slightly embarrassed smile on her face.
I felt my heart grow warm and tender at the sight of her.
Then, as the two of us talked about nothing else, I felt that the time I spent with Hina was becoming more and more comfortable.
While watching over Sakine-chan as she came out of the water, we enjoyed a moment of peace and tranquillity.
We went back to the pool again, this time the three of us toured the wave pool and playground equipment area.
Finally, we decided to try the waterslides again.
“This time Sakine will ride at the front again!”
Sakine confidently declared and again took the front position.
Hina seemed a little more relaxed this time and sat in front of me.
“Maybe I’m more used to it than before.”
“So you don’t have to cling to me again?”
“T-that’s…!”
When I jokingly teased her, Hina’s face turned red and she said: ‘Don’t tease me Mouu!’
We finished the water slide safely, enjoying the thrill of the water slide again.
By the end, all three of us were completely relaxed and ready to end our fun day.
On the bus ride home, Sakine was so exhausted that she leaned on my shoulder and started to sleep.
Hina was also a little tired and quietly closed her eyes next to me.
“Today was fun, wasn’t it?”
Thus, our summer pool day quietly drew to a close with pleasant memories.
The distance between me and Hina has narrowed little by little, and I feel like I’ve become even closer to Sakine-chan, but as I look at the two beautiful sleeping faces on either side of me, I think it’s time for me to make up my mind.
