“Haa, I’m finally here.”
I, Nagatsuki Kouki, muttered to myself as soon as I entered the school. Although I had chosen this high school, it was far from my home. It took me an hour and a half from Yatsushiro, taking a JR train and a tram, to finally arrive here.
“Well, don’t say that. It’s my choice.”
My friend Shimomura Taiyo said. It was indeed the reason why he chose this place. Taiyo is popular anyway. As his name suggests, he is like the sun. He is even taller than I am tall. He was an active member of the basketball team, making the most of his gifted body. He received confessions from many girls and turned them all down. As a result, most of the boys and some of the girls resented him.
To get away from them, he chose to go to a high school away from them anyway. And I went along with him. I went with him because I am his best friend and I had my own reasons for wanting to leave my hometown.
When we entered the class, of course, none of the students we knew were there. Of course, it’s a high school so far away. But there was one name on the list that I recognized.
“Kamiyama Fumika? If it is not the same name, then why?”
“No way. There’s no way she’s here.”
With that thought, we looked at the seat. But it was her, after all, from the same junior high school. But we weren’t particularly close. We only knew her because she was a popular girl. Kamiyama Fumika had a reputation for being petite and cute in an animalistic way. However, she had a rather harsh personality. She was said to have received many confessions, but no one was able to get her to go out with anyone. So there were rumors that she hated men.
“Why is she ……”
“Well, as long as you don’t get involved, that’s fine.”
I said to Taiyo. There is no reason to get involved. We’ll just have to wait and see.
We didn’t know anyone and we were talking alone, but there were some places in the class that were very noisy. I looked around and saw two girls in the center of the room. One was tall and pretty with long black hair. The other had shoulder-length hair and big, round eyes. They were the idols of the class.
It would be better not to get involved with such a conspicuous girl. When I was in junior high school, Taiyo suffered a lot because he got involved with this kind of person. I won’t make any more mistakes here.
After the first day of high school, we’re going back on the long road.
Kamiyama Fumika is going home by train as well, but unlike us, she doesn’t seem to know anyone.

After a long tram ride, I arrived at Kumamoto Station, the last stop, and all I had to do was take the JR train back to my hometown. We were about halfway there in terms of time.

We went to a fast food restaurant on the 6th floor of the station building. After eating a chicken burger and fries set, we went downstairs again and headed for the station. Then I saw a man and a woman struggling a short distance away from the entrance of the station building.
“Hey, that’s …….”
I said to Taiyo. I looked closer and saw that the girl was a classmate of mine. And they were two of the most popular girls in the class. I wondered if they were picking up girls. Three guys are hitting on them and they don’t seem to like it…now what to do ……
And just as I thought, Taiyou was running out. Then he interrupts the men.
“What the hell are you?”
“They’re my classmates. You guys, these girls are scared of you.”
Huh. Taiyo is always like this. If someone is in trouble, he helps them without thinking twice. That’s why he is so popular. His heroic nature had not changed even when he came to a distant school.
“What the heck, you? Don’t bother me.”
The men were not very good-looking. Taiyou is also a tough place to be when it’s three against one. Haa…I have to go
