After all these thorough preparations, and with Yuuka’s encouragement, the midterm exam arrived.

The first subject, English Communication.

Kakakakaka !

Kakakakakakaka !

Shake ! !

Every time my Sharpie danced on the test paper, the answer columns filled up one after another.

I know, I know this !

I can easily solve most of the questions !

This is the first English test I’ve ever taken since I entered high school !

(Except for a few questions that are clearly too difficult, i.e., questions that are designed to make a difference in the score.)

Kakakakakaka !

Kakakakakakakaka !

Kakakakakakakakakakakakaka–!

My turn all the way !

Shake ! !

It’s pretty amazing, in my opinion, that I was able to fill in all the answer columns in English, which I was never good at.

Of course, I’ve always just written words at random and tried not to leave any blanks.

This time, instead of that, I was able to write down answers that could be a one chance corrct answer.

(except for some “obviously too difficult questions = questions to make a difference in score”)

There was no doubt that my study sessions with Yuuka and Mizuki chan from the early stage had been effective.

Oh dear, the Himemiya sisters are the goddess of victory for me.

–I was so confident and relaxed going into the test that I could think of stupid things during the test.

And it continued until the last day of the test.

I was able to write down my answers with such confidence that I could say I did the best I had ever done in all my tests.

In the last subject, Health and Physical Education, I filled in all the answer columns and submitted the test.

“Finally, it’s over~”

After all the tests were over, Yuuka and I were walking home together on the way to school.

I felt a sense of freedom after the test, so I put my hands up and stretched out my legs.

I must have been stiff from studying at my desk for quite a long time every day.

My back and shoulders made a small cracking sound.

“Good work, Sota kun.”

Yuuka smiled at me with her right hand lightly clasped over her mouth.

“Thanks, Yuuka.”

Just by looking at Yuuka’s dainty smile, all my long-accumulated tiredness seems to blow away at once.

A girl’s smile is the best refreshment and energy drink for guys, right?

“Your back was making a lot of noise. It cracked, like you stepped on a twig.”

“Why don’t you try it, Yuuka? Feels good, you know?”

“I’m embarrassed, so I don’t know.”

“That won’t be a problem. I’m the only one here now.”

The bus stop nearest the high school we were heading to was 180 degrees opposite from the JR station, which is used by almost all students.

So, there were already no other students around.

“I-I’m most embarrassed to be seen by Sota kun……”

Then, Yuuka muttered something in a small voice that sounded like a mosquito.

“Eh, what did you say?”

However, it was so quiet that I couldn’t catch it.

“L-like I said…..”

“Yeah?”

Yuuka was at a loss for some reason, so I lightly urged her to continue.
