“There are a lot of people here.”
We were walking through the crowd, holding hands.
“Ah, so? You said you wanted something to eat, candy apples?”
“Apple candy is good, but I’d rather have grape candy.”
“Eh? Grape candy? Is there such a thing?…”
“Yes, it is. It’s surprisingly tasty.”
“Hee~, let’s just walk around looking for a stall.”
After walking around for a while looking for a stall, I found a stall selling candy apples.
“….Oh, isn’t it over there?”
“There it is”
Ayaka happily pointed to the grape candies lined up in the same row as the candy apples.
“There really are candy grapes, aren’t there?”
“What, did you think I was lying?”
“Not at all. I’m going to go get some, so wait here for a minute.”
With that said, I went to buy Ayaka’s grape candy.
I was curious and thought I would try some too, so I left the stall with two candy grapes in my hands.
I couldn’t help my curiosity, so I took a bite first.
(Oh, grape candy…it’s rather tasty. It’s good)
I was impressed by the taste of the grape candy, and was about to share it with Ayaka, when I noticed that Ayaka had not been where I had left her earlier.
The streets along the festival were somehow crowded with people watching the fireworks.
I shouted Ayaka’s name.
“Ayaka!”
But my shouts are muffled by the hustle and bustle of the crowd.
I desperately looked for Ayaka as I made my way through the crowd of spectators along the street.
However, the sheer number of spectators made it impossible for me to find Ayaka.
I regretted again that I had forgotten my phone.
“If I had my phone, I could have easily contacted Ayaka…why did I forget my phone?”
At that moment, fireworks went off.
Boom! Pow!
A fireworks display with a large bloom.
Onlookers looked up at the sky and watched the sparkling fireworks intently.
I desperately looked for Ayaka as I made my way through the crowd of spectators watching the fireworks.
“Originally, I would have been watching the fireworks with Ayaka, but… why did this happen…?”
I strode over to the long stone steps that led up to the main shrine on high ground, where I could climb up to the main shrine.
At that moment, I heard someone’s shout clearly behind me from among the many onlookers.
“Shomaa!”
I turned to look behind me.
I looked behind me and saw Sera sitting on a large stone near the entrance to the stone staircase.
“I finally found you. I’ve been looking for you for a long time. I can’t get in touch with you. Fireworks …… with me.”
“Ayaka, have you seen Ayaka?”
“Eh?”
“We were together just now, but we got separated. Have you seen her?”
I was impatient, but when I asked that, Sera sighed a big sigh and looked somewhat sad.
“……..I saw her go up there. You should go quickly.”
