Synopsis of previous episodes
Andras, a demon tribe with a horde of demons, attacks the town, but with the help of Anri, who has awakened the blessings of the goddess, the main character Tale and his friends manage to defeat the demons. However, their relief is short-lived, as Andras leaves behind a time bomb containing a vast amount of his own magic power as a souvenir. Tale’s party, “The Sword of Wheat,” all joined forces to carry the compressed magic to the mountain, but the king of demons, the earth dragon, appeared from the sky as the last wall. ……

The tremendous pressure was on my body. The dragon, which was flying in front of us with its back to us, was so intimidating that we felt the illusion of such pressure.
However, this pressure felt through the back of the dragon was probably just the effect of the mere presence of this mighty monster.
The giant dragon seemed to be distracted by the huge mass of magical power that was climbing up the mountain. I followed the mass as it slid along the ground, wind whipping up the grass and trees with a stiff wind.
I am a little annoyed at this attitude of not looking at me. I put some strength into the palm of my hand that holds the axe, thinking that I still have enough power to hurt you.
Then I think for a moment.
–I’m not sure if I can handle the compressed magic in this position, or if I, Tale, and everyone else will be caught in the explosion.
I decided to act after a moment, and as if to say, “How about this?” I strengthened the blessing of the goddess that strengthens the body.
As I did so, the silver light rising from my body – the power of the goddess – caused the earth dragon to finally turn its attention toward me. As if noticing for the first time, the dragon in the sky moved its long neck toward me.

With a voice that echoed in the pit of my stomach, a pair of sharp golden eyes shot at me, as if piercing the nighttime mail.
I glared back at it with a snap, and a wave of messed-up mixed magic and intimidation poured down violently.
“–Tale, all by himself like this.”
I felt a chill down my spine, but my feet still moved without hesitation. The leg strength, strengthened many times more than normal, will take me to where I want to be in an instant.
“Hi–hello, rascals ……!”
The edge of my mouth is fished out, just barely, with a fighting spirit. With a terrific smile on my face, I swing my axe with all my might into the belly of the earth dragon, which is slow to react–
“Ggah-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh–!”
— I thought.
I thought as the dragon appeared in front of us on our way to the summit of the mountain. Tale glanced at me from the side, and his mouth tightened as if he was preparing for something.
The color of the fierce battle that had just taken place was still thick on his body. His clothes were torn here and there, blood was seeping out, and his movements were jerky, as if he was hurt somehow.
The earth dragon claimed that the two of us would take on the other. ……
In my mind, I see Tale’s back trying to protect me without regard to his own wounds. –I guess that’s not so far off the mark.
Tale cares about us very much. Moreover, although he has never clearly expressed it in words, he seems to think that we are more valuable than he is, that we can accomplish something big with him.
What actions does he take as a result?
–Yes. Self-sacrifice.
Tale puts us, the members of The Sword of Wheat, before himself. Even in the smallest events of life, even in discussions that determine the party’s policy. And even in the midst of a life-threatening battle.
Tale’s character of always putting his friends first is one of his virtues. However, his tendency toward self-sacrifice, even self-righteousness at times, is a flaw that must one day be dealt with.
And if there is a way to correct this vicious habit, which is on display at all times, it is by depriving Tale of the opportunity for self-sacrifice at this very moment.

I repeatedly attacked the earth dragon, while reminding the evil goddess to give me more power.
“Gooooooooooo!”
I jumped up from the ground and slashed its belly and arms. After that, I immediately kicked the earth dragon’s body, causing it to recoil and land on the ground. With quick movements, it continues its harassing attacks while dodging the frustrated ground dragon’s counterattacks.
-It seems I can’t strike an effective blow to that hard body while it’s flying in the air,…… but that’s not what I’m aiming for.
As we continue to skirmish, the compressed magic protected by magic continues to move at high speed.
The more the magic is away from the wielder, the less effective the control of the magic becomes.
–In other words. Tale and Rietta, who are already far away from here, will not be able to control the magic covering the compressed magic in a short time.
What will then happen is the release of the enormous amount of condensed magic power–a massive explosion.
I look at the end of the compressed magic at the edge of my field of vision while keeping my eyes fixed on the angry dragon.
–At this distance, I wonder if I can just barely make it …….
I Moisten my lips with my tongue. As expected, I’m nervous. Even though the odds are against me, what happens next may at worst cost me my life.
But still. Everything is for Tale’s sake.
–No more putting it off for someday
I understand now what I should have done. The happiness that I should have treasured for the rest of my life was something that could easily slip away at the drop of a hat.
By the time I realized it, it was too late, and I had already tasted enough of the despair that was out of my control.
So. If there is anything I can do now for the person I have always loved and will always love, I will not hesitate. I will do whatever it takes.
I will do everything I can so that Tale can live a healthier life from now on.
The dragon, its anger rising to a fever pitch, is coming at me with all its might. But my consciousness is no longer there, and my gaze is directed at the ball of magical power that has risen to the top of the mountain behind it.
Somehow, I sensed that the time had come, and I opened my mouth and muttered.
“—Bang”
–At that moment, a dazzling light swelled up behind the earth dragon.
A roar and shock rushed through the air.
