Then, once again, Sol and the others began using teleportation magic to head toward Dienen. They imagined where they wanted to go while channeling magic throughout their bodies. For Sol, who was particularly skilled at handling magic, it should have been nothing difficult.
“…Huh?”
For some reason, the magic couldn’t flow smoothly through his body, as if it were being cut off by something. Then, someone’s hand touched Sol’s shoulder.
“Sol… What’s wrong…?”
Was that Celes’ voice? The moment he thought that, Sol’s body had been transferred to Dienen. Sol looked at his body with curiosity.
As he did so, Carla looked at Sol’s body with concern.
“Hey, Sol? Are you okay?”
“Huh? Oh, yeah! Something’s wrong with my magic power!”
“… Shall I take a look?”
Lepios also looked at Sol with concern. Just to be sure, Sol used magic to create flames from his hands. However, this time, the flames appeared from his hands without any problems.
“No, sorry. Maybe it was just my imagination. It seems to be fine.”
“I see. Let me know if anything happens.”
“Yeah, thanks!”
The moment Sol said that, Lepios glanced at Sol’s arm.
“…Were you wearing that bracelet?”
“Huh? Oh, Celes gave it to me! It was a thank-you gift for giving her a present! Celes is so polite!”
In reality, that was probably not the case. However, that was how it appeared to be. Sol thought that if Celes was worried about something, he should convey that feeling as well.
However, for some reason, Lepios frowned.
“Lepios…?”
“…No, it’s nothing. …If anything happens, please let me know.”
“…? Okay.”
When Sol said that, Lepios turned his back on Sol.
Behind him, Carla looked at Celes.
“Gift exchange sounds fun! I want to do that too!”
“Fufu. Then let’s exchange gifts! What would be good…”
“Yes! I want a stone that will make me stronger!”
Celes burst out laughing at Carla’s words.
“Fufu. Decorative items. Okay. Maybe I’ll ask Carla to recommend something for me too.”
“Of course! Oh, but let me know if there’s anything you don’t use as a swordsman! I’m not good at that kind of thing!”
Sol smiled as he watched their exchange. In the end, Carla probably prefers things related to combat over accessories. That was typical of Carla, and Sol felt somehow comforted by it.
Next to her, Celes looked at her mansion with a smile. Her eyes flickered with anxiety.
Seeing Celes like that, Sol took her hand.
“…Are you okay? I think it’s fine if you tell everyone that you’re going to sleep outside. I don’t think you have to go home.”
Sol whispered so that only Celes could hear, and Celes looked at Sol with a momentary look of surprise. Then her anxious expression changed to one of slight relief.
“…I guess so. I can’t involve everyone in my family’s problems. …Hey, everyone…”
“Onee sama…!”
A voice called out to Celes. Turning toward the voice, she saw a woman with blonde hair like her own, slightly younger than her, running toward her.
“…Siren. Why are you here…?”
“The town patrol told me! We suddenly lost contact with you, and the whole family was worried.”
“I see…”
Celes said, smiling at Sol as if she had given up. Certainly, in this situation, she had no choice but to go.
Siren was Celes’ younger sister, two years her junior, whose name also appeared in the original work. Their faces were similar, but she had wavy hair and wore an expensive-looking dress, looking very aristocratic.
Siren treated Celes exactly as she did in the original story. There was no sense of discomfort like there was with the others. Sol felt relieved, but Celes still looked unhappy, which made him worry.
“…Oh? Who is that?”
Siren looked at Sol. Sol realized that this was their first meeting. Just like with Lepios, he had stayed away from Celes and the others as much as possible when he came to Dinen.
“Sol. Didn’t you say he couldn’t come last time?”
“That’s right, I did mention that. But yes, he…”
Siren stared at Sol’s waist for a moment, then, for some reason, looked him up and down as if appraising him.
“Siren…!”
“I understand. Please introduce him to us properly next time. For now, I’ll go and tell my father and the others. Everyone, we’ll be waiting for you.”
With that, Siren disappeared somewhere using her teleportation magic. She was probably heading to her home.
Seeing Siren like that, Celes sighed. Then, she smiled as if she had given up and looked at the three of them.
“Let’s go. This is Sol’s first time in my house, so let’s walk. I’m sorry if I end up showing you something unsightly.”
With that, Celes began to walk. Unsure about Celes’s back, Sol followed her and squeezed her hand tightly. Celes smiled as if she felt a little relieved, and Sol felt a little happy.
