The moment she said that, Rale’s eyes widened.

“Wait! Leo likes me, right? Then why are we strangers?”

“…Huh? No, didn’t you give up on me and go to someone else?”

“No…! It was because I was lonely…! I understood Leo’s feelings, so I wanted to be with Leo again…”

“That’s impossible for me.”

Lepios said firmly in response to Rale’s words.

“Why…?”

“I couldn’t make you happy. That’s why you found someone else you love. I thought it would be better for you if I stepped aside. However, I don’t want our relationship to change. That would be dishonest to both him and me.”

“Eh, ah, well, then I’ll cut ties properly! Leo is the one I love the most! So please, don’t say we have to break up…”

Rale reached out her hand desperately, but Lepios pushed her away.

“Rare, I truly… loved you. I wanted to grant any wish you had. But there are limits. You crossed that line. There are things I simply cannot forgive.”

“Wait… Let’s talk this through… We still love each other, right? If that’s the case, we can talk it out…”

“I no longer love you. And I never will again. That’s all there is to it.”

With that, Lepios walked away from Rare. He didn’t even look back at her as she cried out in despair.

Sol watched :epios’s figure with mixed feelings. He had always believed that if it weren’t for the influence of the miasma, everyone could be happy with their loved ones. But it wasn’t that simple. And now, Sol was relieved that Lepios had been able to part ways after expressing his true feelings.

He thought again. What is a happy ending? What was the world he had desired? And what was the happy ending that the mysterious voice had spoken of?

As he pondered these questions, he failed to notice that Lepios was approaching. By the time he realized it, Lepios was already standing before him.

“…Were you listening?”

“Ah, no, I was just talking to Celes and happened to… I’m really sorry.”

When Sol said that, Lepios sighed softly and replied.

“…It’s okay. I was going to talk about it anyway.”

Even as he said that, Lepios glanced at Celes, who was standing next to him. Celes was also looking down, as if deep in thought.

“Celes…?”

Sol peered at Celes’ face, remembering what had happened earlier. Celes was still acting strange.

“Are you okay…?”

“…Just listen to Lepios for now. It’s easier for men to talk about things like this, isn’t it? I’ll leave for now.”

“B-But…”

He did want to listen to Lepios’ story. But he wasn’t sure if it was okay to leave Ceres alone like this.

Seeing Sol’s expression, Celes smiled gently at him and whispered in a voice only he could hear.

“It’s okay. I’m not going anywhere. So listen to my story later.”

Even as she said that, Sol saw Celes clutching the hem of her own clothes tightly, and he remembered her words that she didn’t want him to go anywhere.

If only Celes truly felt the same way.

“Celes. I’m not going anywhere either, so let’s talk later.”

Sol said this so that only Celes could hear, and Celes smiled happily, though still a little uneasily.

This had never happened before. She had always thought she was being shunned, so even though she had shown her kind side, she didn’t expect to be welcomed back.

Lepios watched Celes leave with a puzzled look on his face.

“…Is something wrong?”

“Huh? Oh, well… When we were talking about Dienen, Celes seemed a little off, right? So I was just listening in a bit!”

“Now that you mention it… I’m sorry. I was so focused on my own things that I didn’t notice.”

Sol thought about what Lepios had said. What about Lepios? Even if he showed his gentle side, would Lepios still want to be with him?

“…Hey, shall we talk? I’ll tell you about myself too, once Repios’ feelings have settled down.”

When Sol said that, Lepios smiled softly.

“…It seems that talking with onee san was really good for you, Sol.”

“Eh…?”

“No, I’m happy too. I’m happy that you’re trying to open up to me.”

Those words made Sol happy again. Why does everyone want him to open up to them?

It’s because Ihe is Sol. Not Yuto. The old him started to argue in his head. But even so, he had already shown lepios a lot of Yuto’s side.

I really wanted to ask why. But he also knew that now was not the time to ask.

As Celes said, being useful isn’t everything. But he wanted to be of some use to everyone who was being so kind to him. Right now, Lepios comes first.

“Actually, I’m happy that everyone is opening up to me too! For now, don’t worry about me, just talk as much as you want! I’ll listen to your complaints or whatever until you’re satisfied!”

Bright and cheerful, just like Sol. Though he thought that, in reality, Sol didn’t say such words, and the basis for those words lay in Yuto’s heart.

He didn’t know what a happy ending was. But at least, he wanted to truly make everyone who had shown kindness to him happy.
