“Hey, Lepios. How can I continue to protect Sol while realizing his ideals?”

Lepios sighed heavily at these words.

“Nee san is right, if you rely on Sol, won’t Sol rely on you too? In fact, if you hadn’t run away in embarrassment, Sol would have tried to tell you something. Then you ……. Sol didn’t hear this conversation, did he?”

“…… Yeah, it’s okay. He’s probably sleeping. I think he’s a little sick.”

“That’s because he was in shock when you rejected him.”

These words from Lepios made her feel a mixture of sorry and glad that he really likes her.

But she couldn’t stay in the mood. Sol is regularly in danger. Each time, Celes would guess Sol’s whereabouts from the conversations and sounds she heard and go to his rescue. She never thought that the magical device that she had given him as a talisman would be so useful.

“I’m scared. I’m afraid that Sol will die again. Even today. Even though Sol thought he had talked to Carla about it, he hadn’t even told her where he was. I managed to locate the place and save him, but he might have died again. Besides, the other side had designated Sol as their target, remember?”

“Given …… your strength, they probably thought that threatening Sol as a hostage would ensure that they could take the book of forbidden arts from you. I don’t think the other side could have imagined that you originally intended to give it to them.”

Considering the method of resurrecting the dead and what they had experienced so far, the only way to revive the Demon King was to sacrifice the Four Kings, a humanoid demon tribe. When Sol’s words made her realize this, she attached a note of the law of who should be sacrificed and handed the book of forbidden arts to Behe.

So surely, they would revive the Demon King by sacrificing one of them. And once the Demon King was defeated, she would be able to kill both of them for sure.

There was only one miscalculation. There were only two of the Four Kings still alive.

“I didn’t think that Levia was still alive. I killed her with my own hands for sure.”

“She has the ability to self-regenerate, you know. She must have faked her death and deceived well. It’s not only that you used the forbidden art to revive Sol, but also that you brought the Four Kings of the Demon Tribe back to life and killed them for the sake of this experiment.”

“Ara, that’s fine. Without the experiment, Sol could have come back to life looking like a demon, you know? That’s not good. We can’t use ordinary people for the experiment. The Four Kings who revived Sol were Behe’s friends who killed him, so what could you do to such an opponent? And if I revived him and left them alone, that’s exactly how dangerous they would be.”

But Levia was alive. That indicated that even if the Demon King revived, one of them would certainly live and Sol could be in danger.

“…I wonder if the eavesdropping magic tool alone won’t be enough.”

“Please stop. Even in the current situation, I wonder what Sol would think if he found out the truth. Besides, you’re at the stage where you’re both in love, so you should stop even eavesdropping.”

“No! What if something happens to Sol!?
At least until all the Four Kings are taken care of. …… Of course, if Sol dies, I can always resurrect the dead as many times as I want. I have plenty of human stock left for sacrifice, just in case. But before that, I don’t want Sol to have to go through that level of suffering again. I want Sol to be happy forever.”

“But there are limits. Sol is slowly beginning to realize that he is mistrustful of us. The only reason we are managing is because he trusts us straight away, you know? What are you going to do if Sol finds out about this?”

At Lepios’ words, Celes turns her head down. she knows. she knows that if Sol finds out about all this, he may not like her. But she could not stop thinking that she might lose Sol again.

And every time she thought that she might be found out, the words that he said in Efall came to her mind. I love you, no matter who I am.

“If I just tell him everything ……”

“What are you thinking?”

“Because Sol said he loves me. He said he loves me no matter what.”

“I told you there are limits. Even if Sol loves you, it doesn’t mean you can do anything you want. It is Sol who will be hurt, you know? You know that, too, which is why you hid it from Sol from the beginning, don’t you?””

Celes herself knew that this was probably the case. Even though she knew, she couldn’t help but feel anxious. Since that day, she had dreamed of Sol dying over and over again. Every time she woke up in the morning and Sol was gone, she couldn’t breathe, wondering if he had died again.

Seeing Celes looking on the ground without saying a word, Lepios sighed heavily.

“Celes. I understand your feelings as much as you do. Besides, it would be better to cover up the matter of the forbidden art and take it to the grave. But I ask you again, what do you want to do with Sol? As for me, he is an important friend.
So, if you go over this by any more degrees, I will no longer be on your side. ……”

“…. If I tell you that I won’t stop, will you tell Sol the whole truth? Or are you not taking my side and looking at a situation where I might find out?”

“I didn’t mean it that way, I just ……”

She knows. If she really cares about Sol, she should not do such a thing. But at the same time, the feeling that she really wants to keep Sol locked up comes up.

Just keeping an eye isn’t enough. She wants to lock him away somewhere safe and give him only what he wants. She wants to create a place where he can receive only love, without mean friends or neglectful parents, or anything that could hurt him.

But because she loves Sol, she knows that he doesn’t want that either.

“Hey, please. I want you to help me at least until the Four Kings matter is settled. Until then, please cooperate with me. When a peaceful world comes, I’ll stop this.”

“…… Haa. I understand. I will cooperate with you until then. But I won’t be responsible if you are found out and hated before then.”

At Lepios’ words, Celes breathed out a sigh of relief. With this, he will surely be able to follow up on any problems that may arise. Besides, Lepios is a valuable person who can help Sol when he is injured. And he is properly strong. So it is unlikely that Sol will be in danger

The same goes for Carla. It’s a little annoying when Carla hugs Sol sometimes and Sol is embarrassed, but she makes up for Sol’s weakness in battle and is able to fight on her own. More importantly, she is a dear friend of Sol’s, so there is no reason to exclude her from the fight.

However, Torsa kun……

Celes thinks vaguely. He is probably a very important friend of Sol’s, too. He’s so important to Sol that he would protect him from a mean friend. But he is weak. And because of him, Sol was in danger. If he was taken hostage again, Sol would go to his rescue without hesitation.

Thinking about this, one way came to mind. It would be okay. This is for Sol’s sake too. It would be Sol who would be sad if he were in danger. It would be okay, he is Sol’s dear friend, so he won’t harm him. She knows that Sol wouldn’t want that to happen either. She’ll just give him a little warning.

Oh, I have to talk to him somehow, before Sol talks to him. Celes thought to herself.
