“Hmm? Who is it?”
It was Sunday, the day after I visited Akari’s house. I had no part-time job scheduled, so I was cleaning the house.
I stopped cleaning and picked up my phone and looked at the screen.
“Yoo-hoo ! Ke i! I’ll be home in about an hour, so wait for me !”
The person sending me that was my mom…..who was on a trip.
No, it’s more correct to say she was on a business trip……
If my reaction is any indication, she hasn’t told me she’s coming home today.

She and my dad went on a business trip 20 days after I was born into this world.

“I’m home ! Kei !”
She hugged me.

“Welcome home, Mom. What made you come home so suddenly? Where’s Dad?”
