The first day of summer vacation…… would technically be the day before? Anyway, on the day of the end-of-school ceremony, Haruie went home quietly. The fact that she left the books and games she had bought at my house must mean that she’s going to stay over in earnest from tomorrow.
I think she could just come over for a normal visit without staying over, but I guess she has her own ideas. Personally, I’m more concerned about the fact that she left the books she cherished so much in my room. Does that mean she trusts me? To say it’s annoying is an understatement because it puts pressure on the space in my room, but I’m glad to say I’m happy about it.
I don’t know about her reading pace, but this isn’t a lot to finish in a few days, is it? Or is it possible to read a lot of novels in a day? I’m talking about regular novels, but I can read two if I try my best, and if I read every day, even one would be tough.
When I asked her why she stay over today, she gave me an unanswerable answer: ‘I’m treated like a shady person, but I’m not so down and out that I’m going to run away’. I am sure her words are useless if you think about them too deeply. When I was little, I used to imitate quotes from anime and special effects without knowing what they meant, and that’s the way it is, isn’t it?
“Good morning. You seem to be sleeping very deeply. Did you stay up late? Or was yesterday’s shopping date affecting you?”
What time did I set my …… alarm for? I thought I was trying to prevent day/night distractions, so even on long vacations, I would have made an effort to get up by 7:00. ……
“It would be one thing if I lived alone, but I have parents. Is it normal for them to come here so early in the morning?”
Father leaves the house after 6:00 a.m., and Mother is probably up by that time, too. I’ve already done my research.

Why was she all alone, even though she was so talkative? Aren’t girls more valued for their talkative nature? Isn’t it okay to just talk, even if there isn’t a punchline?
“I’m going into my reading time, so go finish getting ready in the morning without me.”
“I don’t need to be told.”
If it weren’t for this one, I could have slept for another thirty minutes. …… I don’t mind, though, because it’s past and there’s nothing wrong with getting up early. ……
Mom, I wonder if something’s gone wrong. It’s too early for menopause…
I asked, “Haruie-san, she’s going to stay over, is it okay? Will it be a bother to Dad?” but she replied, “You can do whatever you want, but don’t let her get pregnant.” If Mom had an old-fashioned TV, I’d be chopping it at a 45-degree angle.
“Sorry for the wait.”
“Hmmm. I’m not waiting for you, but welcome back.”
I had been out of the room for almost an hour, having breakfast, brushing my teeth, and other things, but she didn’t seem to mind at all. Even if she blamed me, I have no intention of changing my ways. After all, she came here against my will.

It’s my room, so why should I let Haruie decide how I spend my time?

To Haruie, it’s a charming feature. To me, it’s just something to ensure the survival of the offspring.
