Amamiya has a hard time with Takasaki Rinka.
She has a typical queenly personality, a good face to those she likes, but she looks down on those she doesn’t like.
Amamiya, who doesn’t stand out in class, is no exception and considered a creepy guy who follows Karina around.
“Hey, would you stop talking to Karina because you’re annoying? What if this girl’s image is tarnished because of you? Hey, you know?”
A lickspittle tone, calling someone she had never spoken to ‘you’.
In front of someone she was not good at, Amamiya could not open him mouth.
If he said something and that word caused Takasaki’s anger, there was a possibility that his future school life would become even worse.
There are no allies for Amemiya in this classroom.
No matter what cruel word she says, if she orders it, all her classmates will turn against him.
He will be bullied.
Takasaki has that much power and position, and if he doesn’t obey, there is a risk that the target will be directed at him, so he has no choice but to obey.
“S-sorry ……”
“Then get out of here.
This is why it’s so annoying when people can only communicate with each other over stupid otaku hobbies. You’re uncooperative, you can’t read the air, and you really need to go away?”
“Ha ha ha! You’re right, Rin-chan!”
“Takasaki-san, you’re too merciless! I feel sorry for him!”
As Amamiya picks up his bento and stands up, Takasaki and her entourage gather around and make fun of her.
Still, Amamiya held on, desperately trying to convince himself that this was still better.
If Takasaki was serious, this would not be enough.
(Someone who deserves to be laughed at will just end up being laughed at. That’s fine. ……)
“Karina is my best friend, so don’t you ever approach her again so casually, creepy-otter.”
After Takasaki’s stinging words, Amamiya tries to move away from the desk, but Karina, who had been quiet next to him all along, grabs him by the arm and stops him.
“It’s stupid …… really stupid, isn’t it?”
She was not at all emotional, and her voice was cold to the point of no return.
Takasaki thought she had affirmed Amamiya’s teasing and tried to push her further, but.
“Rinka-chan’s inability to read the air, the way she comes close and attacks incompatible people like an animal. It’s so stupid and embarrassing to watch, why don’t you just quit?”
However, it was not Takasaki but Amamiya who Karina took sides with.
Takasaki was taken aback that this was not the development she had expected.
“Nah. ……”
“Hey, I’m the one who approached Takaaki-kun, so it doesn’t matter to Rinka-chan who I’m friends with, does it?”
Karina put forward a good argument, without losing her spare expression.
But such a good argument does not resonate with the hierarchical Takasaki.
“Of course it’s a big deal. Because there’s no way that Karina would eat with a lout, right? No matter how you think about it, it would be more beneficial for her to eat with us, wouldn’t it?”
“Why?”
Karina nodded her head, as if she really didn’t understand.
“Because we’re cool. We don’t talk about boring games, we have a lot of cool friends and acquaintances. If we’re thinking about the future, it’s only fair that you hang out with this side of the family, isn’t it?”
“Well, if that’s Rinka-chan’s way, I won’t deny it. I think it’s perfectly okay to want recognition from others. If Rinka-chan wants to do that, she can do it as she pleases, but imposing her values on others is out of the question. Rinka-chan wants to have popular people around her, and I want to talk to Takaaki-kun. Frankly speaking, it’s annoying that you don’t listen to the person’s opinion and attack him every time. To be honest, it’s annoying.”
With a gaze like a cold-hearted witch, Takasaki backed away.
For the first time, Karina said, “It’s annoying,” and it was more than enough to peel off Takasaki’s disguise.
“…Don’t get carried away and say things from above, Karina. Who do you think is the reason you’ve been able to live your high school life without being bullied? If you didn’t look like that, then you’re just a lowlife. Even though you’re such a boring person, you always give me boring answers!”
“But Rinka-chan’s stories are all boring.”
“You!”
“Ah, Rin-chan, stop! Hold it down, hold it down!”
“Yes, yes, you don’t have to listen to her at all!”
Takasaki was clearly about to make a move, but her entourage stopped her.
She placated her with her usual flattering way of speaking.
Nagase Karina was so honest and daredevil that Amamiya, who was watching from the side, was breaking out in a cold sweat.
She had offended that Takasaki to this extent, yet she showed no sign of fearing the misfortune that might befall her in the future.
“Tch, I’m so disappointed. Let’s go, you guys. ……”
Perhaps having calmed down a little after being placated, Takasaki turned her back to Karina, still looking like she wanted to say something.
It seems like she gave up, so he’s glad the matter is settled.
“Wait, I’m not comfortable unless you correct it on one point.”
Karina stopped Takasaki.
Amamiya was almost teary-eyed and Kumatani, who was quietly drinking juice nearby, whistled.
Before he knew it, Kumatani was watching the game.
“Ah? What?”
“The game is nothing silly.
It is the best tool in human history to entertain, to make people lonely, to make them work hard and to …… bring them together.”
At the word ‘Together’, Amamiya gasps.
If it hadn’t been for the offline meeting, he would never have known that Dragonhead was really Karina for all eternity.
If it had not been for playing ‘Arcadia Fantasy’, he might never have met Dragon Head and would have continued to spend time alone in a dark room.
“So I will continue to talk a lot about games with Takaaki-kun. I want to, but if he doesn’t want to, I won’t. How about you, Takaaki kun?”
“Ah, eh …… um, I want to.”
Amamiya was confused by the sudden conversation, but answered honestly.
He wants to talk a lot about games with Karina.
Because she’s his partner.
“So, correct what you said earlier. Rinka-chan.”
These were powerful words that showed Karina’s firm will.
Takasaki, who was told this, was watching to see if she would actually correct it
“Damn it …….”
She did not correct or argue, but walked out of the classroom.
Classmates watching the whole thing were stunned, but Kumatani, who was drinking his juice nearby, said ‘bravo’ and applauded.
This was followed by a round of applause from all over the classroom.
Everyone was struck by Karina’s courageous action.
The same was true for Amamiya.
Karina defended him, who had remained silent, but hr unable to say anything back to her.
“She’s really stubborn, really. I’m sorry, Takaaki-kun, it’s my fault. ……”
“No, that’s not true. Rather, Karina said that, so this is how I’m being saved. ……”
The applause stopped as they began to flirt with each other as if they were a newly formed couple, and returned to the usual buzzing classroom.
Amamiya sat in his seat, amazed at how quickly his classmates had switched from one to the other.
And Karina hurriedly sat down next to him, not wanting to give her seat to anyone else.
Softly, Amamiya smells the good smell of the girl and once again, Amamiya is nervous about the situation.
It was because it was so unrealistic for him to be eating dinner with that Nagase Karina.
But this is not a game, but the real world.
Life in reality is always in hard mode, and no one knows how it will progress and how it will end.
Including this, Amamiya Takaaki’s life began to move in an unexpected direction.
Tojo looked at the two of them regretfully, biting her lower lip.

“why is this happening”
Because you’re fucking dumb.
Honestly, this could had been written better.
1. The good point is that Karina doesnt care about anything and her classmates were never friends.
2. MC lacks resolve, you were doing well when you dressed up and tore that letter. But why cry?
It’s called a character arc. The MC starts out with a lot of flaws, and over the course of the story he gradually confronts and resolves them. This is a very typical plot structure for this kind of novel. This is still early in the novel, so he hasn’t yet managed to overcome his social anxiety and inferiority complex, but he probably will eventually. That in itself isn’t bad writing, but it can become bad if it’s not paced and balanced well.
