I really wish there would be just one of these types of novels that avoids using this trope, it’s just such a waste of time and only serves to reinforce the MC’s mediocrity.
I like that trope, it’s funny and satisfying to see said entitled douchebag get put in his place. So it’s not a waste of time for me. Conversely, I don’t particularly care for drawn out fluffy dates and shit like that with just the MC and the love interest, they’re super boring, but they seem to be very popular since they’re so common.
