“I like the idea of having yakiniku at home.”

Reisa was enjoying yakiniku in a room filled with smoke and smells while saying something very shallow.

Nagisa was busy tending to the meat with a pair of tongs.

She was a yakiniku master, or perhaps she was a yakiniku master, as she volunteered to be in charge of the grilling and never let go of the tongs.

I left it to them to buy the meat, but to be honest, I felt uneasy inside.

I was worried that they might buy extremely expensive meat.

Since I’m not paying for it myself, it’s not a problem financially, but I still feel a bit embarrassed to be able to get such good meat for free.

I was thinking that I would have to pay for it myself, but I was relieved to find that many of the meats were relatively reasonably priced.

I have such a commoner mentality that I’m afraid of shopping.

Well, even so, it’s expensive since it contains domestic meat, which I would avoid.

By the way, the meat was basically Nagisa’s choice.

She seems to cook for herself at home and is accustomed to going to the supermarket.

Amakusa Nagisa is a very capable person in addition to her good looks.

Reisa seemed to be satisfied with her first home yakiniku, and she kept getting grilled meat from Nagisa and stuffing her mouth full of it.

She looked like a little animal, which made me laugh.

It is also interesting that she stubbornly does not use yakiniku sauce.

According to her, it is not allowed for religious reasons.

That is why she is the only one who eats with salt all the time.

It may sound like a joke, but in her case, she is a returnee from abroad and is steeped in another country’s culture, so it’s hard to tell whether it’s a joke or not.

She swallows the meat in her mouth and opens her mouth.

“Haa~. It’s nice to have something other than a study session once in a while.”

“I guess so. Haha, it would be good to make this a regular event after the tests.”

“That’s a good idea ! Next time, we’ll go to Nagisa’s house.”

“I’m fine with that, but my parents are there, and I don’t think it would be easy for you two to be there.”

It’s true that the good thing about my house is that my mother is basically not there.

The house itself is small and empty, but being able to play at night without parental supervision would be an advantage.

And also, I had thought that Nagisa’s family was not very close, but I was a little surprised that they allowed her to come over so easily.

“Speaking of that, what are you two going to do at night? I’ll take you to the station, but it’s not safe at night.”

The two girls looked at me with a puzzled look on their faces.

Even an ordinary night is dangerous for girls, but these two are something else.

Reisa is a rich kid, and she might be kidnapped for ransom.

Well, I’m sure she’s always out and about so there’s no need to worry, but I was a little curious so I asked.

Reisa answered with a grin.

“I’m fine. I’ll send someone from home to pick me up. Right, Nagisa?”

“Yes. Thank you for taking care of me today.”

“Then you’ll be all right.”

“I mean, you’re worried about me.”

“I don’t know how long it’s going to take.”

“I can stay here overnight.”

“No, you can’t. I’m not prepared.”

It’s a three-day weekend, so it wouldn’t be a problem if they could stay until tomorrow.

But that’s just a matter of public opinion.

My own mental state isn’t strong enough, so I want to avoid spending time under the same roof with two beautiful girls.

Unlike Reisa’s mansion, there are no parents or servants, and the number of rooms is limited.

From this conversation, the conversation shifted to talk about their pasts.

It was around 9:00 p.m., and the pace of eating had slowed down, so the conversation was in full bloom.

“My English is not very good, but I can speak French well.”

She had lived in Japan until she was 10 years old and then moved to Paris, and although her English is not so good, she is truly multilingual.

She returned to Japan full-time about a year and a half ago.

“I’m amazed you managed to get your grades up to the point where you could get into this school in a year and a half.”

“Hahaha, I had a good brain.”

“I think it’s really great.”

“Eh, you can’t get anything out of me even if you praise me.”

“Even if you say that while opening your wallet.”

“Ha !”

She may be a bit of an airhead, but she’s not a bad guy at all, as evidenced by the oddly good instincts she has in general.

And considering that she is good at languages, I feel that my English skills will improve in the future as well.

I have seen up close how people improve their grades from flat to getting into this school in junior high school.

That’s why I know how hard she worked.

Well, it seems that once she got in she turned into the queen of failing grades, so it’s obvious how important persistence is.

“Even so, overseas? I’ve never been there yet.”

“You’re going there someday, aren’t you, Tsukushi?”

“Sure.”

If you want to become a doctor, you will probably have to go abroad for training.

There will definitely be opportunities to experience countries other than Japan in the future.

And that’s when Nagisa also opened her mouth.

“My brother is also abroad right now, and looking at the pictures he sometimes gives me, I would like to go there someday too.”

“You have an older brother?”

“Yes. He is a little older than me, but we have been close since we were children. He’s kind, always thinking of me, and I’m proud of him.”

“Overseas, like on a business trip?”

“No……at university. Unlike me, my brother is a good student.”

Seeing Nagisa’s wry smile, I felt like I was getting a little closer to the true nature of the discomfort I had always felt about her.

I had wondered about the fact that she, who generally has good grades, feels complex about it and about the family situation that sometimes darkens her expression, but it somehow feels right.

I see, so the pattern is that her older brother is the better one

That in itself seems like it would be mentally draining.

“No no, Nagisa, if you say that, all the students except Tsukushi will cry. Well, it’s important to have your own preferences, but Nagisa is also amazing enough. Have confidence. In the first place, you’re the one who’s letting me avoid failing Japanese, right?”

“Indeed, if you think about it like that, I guess I’m pretty amazing too.”

“That’s true. You can be very proud, Amakusa san.”

“…I said it myself, but don’t be so convinced ! You were just praising me earlier !”

The three of us burst when the punchline was made.

No matter what, our school is a top academic high school.

Everyone who gathers there has their own quirks and they all boast about how smart they are.

“I’d like to go abroad, too.”

If it were in a nearby country, it would be a good idea, but if it were in an English-speaking country, it would cost a lot of money.

I’m interested in studying abroad, but I want to concentrate on my studies.

That’s why I haven’t had a chance to travel abroad, but it is true that I would like to do so.

Reisa responded to my words.

“Let’s go then.”

“That easy?”

“Well, I’ve been back and forth so often.”

“Fufu, that may be a good idea. Exposing yourself to foreign cultures while you can could help you deepen your knowledge. For example, you could learn about world history while you’re there.”

“Even so, travel expenses are not free.”

“I’m going back for a few days in the summer, so would you like to come with me then?”

I widened my eyes at this unexpected suggestion.

Speaking of France, it would certainly help with my world history studies.

A trip to France would certainly help me learn world history, and a trip to France would be fun to begin with.

With these two, I would have time to study, and it would be a perfect match.

No, no, no, no.

I’m being taken care of too much.

I shook my head and laughed.

“Well, I’ll think about it.”

“It’s like an early honeymoon…..”

“Well then, I guess I’m in the way.”

“Huh !? …Did that come out of your mouth?”

“I don’t know.”

“N-Nagisa you can stay too ! I’m just kidding !”

I chewed the rest of the meat as I watched the two of them having a conversation I couldn’t quite understand.
