For Mikagami Akane, Kosuke is like a hero.

Akane has loved drawing pictures since she was a child, and after entering junior high school she began drawing illustrations in earnest and posting them on the Internet.

Her feelings of excitement and nervousness at having ventured into a new world were mixed. After a few days of posting, she received her first comment on her illustrations.

It is the nature of a creative person to want a reaction after posting a work. Akane also felt her heart pounding as she received her first response.

However, the moment she saw the comment, she was overcome by a feeling of bitterness, as if her chest was constricted.

The comment was what is called “criticism,” and it pointed out in a commanding tone that one should do this or that.

That day, Akane lost her appetite and could not eat anything. She could not even pick up a pen and fell asleep.

Nevertheless, a few days later, she felt renewed and tried once again to draw an illustration.

Thinking that the critics had a point, she took note of what they pointed out and finished the next illustration.

With a nervous look on his face, she posted her work online again. She was confident that it was much better than the last one.

After a while, one comment left her speechless.

It was from a different person than the previous comment, and it said only one word: [The previous one was better.]

(No way…..I fixed it because I was told it was bad.)

Outsiders who say whatever they want anonymously are selfish. They stick knives in people’s faces just to make themselves feel good, without thinking that their words might hurt them.

They look for the rough edges of others from a safe distance and attack them, hoping that by pointing them out, they can make themselves feel as if they are superior, even if only a little.

The site where Akane was posting her illustrations had many users of particularly low morals.

But of course, Akane, who had just started her activities on the Internet, did not know such things. She was simply saddened by the fact that she had been rejected.

However, she continued to post her works for almost a year, not letting the comments get to her. However, the number of comments that selfishly criticized and pointed out her work continued to increase.

Some of the comments were merely slanderous, such as [Stop drawing] and [You’re annoying].

(I was just drawing and posting illustrations because I liked them, but…..how horrible. How can you say such horrible things to someone you don’t even know? I’m so tired of it.)

Just when she was starting to get tired of drawing illustrations and thinking about quitting, she received the comment.

[I have looked at all of Enoshima Akane’s illustrations ! I really like your style, and I want to continue to see more, so I will follow you !]

It was the first time someone had told her that they liked her illustrations.

When she looked at the person’s account, she saw that his name was Kiritani Kou and that he did not post any illustrations. From the name, she somehow imagined that he was a man.

Looking at the linked social media, it seems that he posts Vocaloid songs and writes web novels.

Just looking at his kind comments, she was inspired to create. As if it were a lie that she had been thinking of quitting illustration, Akane continued to draw and post her works.

Each time she did, Kiritani Kou commented a lot on what he liked about the illustrations. That was the only thing that encouraged her.

One day, after those days had passed, he asked Enoshima Akane for a favor.

[I have a favor to ask Enoshima Akane san…..if you don’t mind, could I ask you to make an illustration for the PV of my song?]

Kou sent an email, and Akane was assigned to illustrate the music video for his song for the first time.
