There are many different types of streamers.
There are beauty, makeup, and fashion streamers for women like Ayana, ASMR streamers for men like Toko, VTubers, live-action and game streamers like Mei, and the number of types and people who are doing so is still increasing.
It would be correct to think that the various genres of programs we used to watch on TV are now readily available online.
“…There are a lot of scandal streamers as well. They can get more numbers than other streamers.”
By “numbers,” I mean the number of viewers.
I’ve heard of them.
Gossip articles have always been popular with a certain number of people.
The reasons are varied.
Some people find it stimulating and pleasurable to see and hear about things they would never experience themselves in their daily lives.
They feel as if they know something about other people’s situations and secrets, and they get a kick out of talking about it with their friends and acquaintances.
When they see people ruined by infidelity, debt, and various other reasons, they feel relieved and think, [I am better than this person.]
There is a saying…..other people’s misfortune is the taste of honey.
For those reasons, it is surely one of the most popular businesses that will never go away.
“So now Jinguji has become a scandal streamer……. That’s just like him.”
It’s not that I don’t like scandal streamers.
It’s not that I haven’t enjoyed such entertainment, or that I despise gossip articles on news programs.
It’s just that when I learned that the guy who scorned me in front of a crowd and made fun of me for being a stalker was doing it, I felt that he was no different.
It makes me sick to think that he is still laughing at someone on the Internet.
“Senpai, excuse me.”
Mei, who was sitting next to me, suddenly sat down in front of me and guided me into a hug with her hands.
“Mei……?”
“You looked like you’s in a lot of pain. I thought it would be a little easier if I did this,…..kuku, was that unnecessary?”
Hugging Mei from behind definitely makes me feel better.
I’m sure she noticed my tense expression and took notice of me.
“I’m sorry.”
“No, I like it when Senpai squeezes me from behind, so I’m more than welcome to it. If you’re okay with that, then can I go back to explaining…?”
“Thank you. Go ahead.”
“Jinguuji senpai has been active as a scandal streamer for many months now, but his channel had less than 100 subscribers.”
If I didn’t know any better, I would have thought that 100 subscribers was a great number, but in this kind of work, this number seems low for someone who has been active for many months.
“For some reason, the number of subscribers suddenly began to increase one month ago, and now it has exceeded 500,000 people.”
“Half a million in one month !? Until then, there were less than 100 people, and now it’s….?”
“Yes, it’s strange, isn’t it? I think there are two reasons for the sudden increase. Take a look at this.”
On Mei’s phone, there is a channel with a very suspicious name called [Hell Agency News.]
Indeed, the channel has over 500,000 subscribers.
But what was noteworthy was the number of viewers for the videos the channel had streamed up to that point.
“One month ago, when there were less than 100 subscribers, the number of viewers was less than 1,000. But…”
“Then a little while later, all at once, it had hundreds of thousands of views….. The thumbnail and the title made no difference.”
The rate of growth in just a few days was a huge difference.
It’s not like he changed anything in the way he had been making his videos, and I haven’t watched it, but it’s exactly the same.
“The video from a few months ago and the video from the past few days are the same thing. The only difference is–whether it’s new information or old information.”
“……New information or old information? Maybe he was disseminating old information that had already been released to the public?”
Mei nodded her head.
Sometimes when I watch news programs, I feel like, [This news again] or [I saw this information on another news program.]
Freshness of information is important.
Someone said something like that.
It is better to deliver information that no one knows than information that everyone knows.
This is even more true for those who enjoy gossip.
“Until now, he has been transmitting information that I had heard somewhere else and heard again. Even in the comments section, he was criticized for being too old-fashioned, or for bragging about information that they already knew. But a month ago, he suddenly became the one transmitting information that no one knows.”
“If you are sending out fresh information that no one knows anywhere, it is not surprising that the number of people who watch would increase at once….. But how can you be sure?”
I thought there was no way that Jinguuji, who is not a real reporter but a streamer, could get information faster than other scandal streamers or TV news.
I wondered if he was just gathering people with random false information.
“Yes, all his information was true. That’s why he’s becoming extraordinarily popular.”
“I see. Let me get this straight, you’re saying that Jinguuji got information that no one else knew about, and because that information was accurate, his popularity suddenly increased?”
“Yes, that’s right.”
It’s easy to put it into words.
But I can only wonder how he is able to do that.
“What’s important is how you get that information…”
“As he has become popular, there are cases where he’s getting tips and tricks from listeners, but the first stream that led him to become popular was the information that that person found.”
The stream that triggered the rapid increase in the number of channel subscribers and viewers was a video in which he exposed the fact that a famous video game player had a three-way affair.
“If someone with no influence had revealed that Mei was Kanatsu Kanako and her relationship with Senpai on her channel, I don’t think they would have taken any notice of it, even if it was just a tweet on social media. But if it’s that person’s word now……”
“Without question, the word spreads fast…… So you’re threatened by that, is that what you are saying?”
“……Yes. I’m sorry, Senpai, I’ve been caught off guard.”
“No, that’s fine.”
The question is, how did he find out?
It may have something to do with the fact that he’s rapidly gaining access to information that no one else knows about.
What should I do?
—Ping !
Suddenly, my phone rang.
I checked to see who it was from, and it was a good friend of mine, a lawyer.
“…..Is it from work?”
“Uh, yeah, something like that. You know that lawyer.”
“Lawyer, lawyer…..ah, that.”
Mei seems to have remembered something, and has a slightly complicated expression on her face.
“You were still good friends with that person……”
“Well, yes.”
“I hate that man so much ! He always smells of alcohol and cigarettes, he’s a stinker, and he just stinks.”
“Well, that’s the kind of person he is. …We were talking about another matter, but I thought we’d talk about this as well.”
I had contacted him about Ayana’s case, but he might be able to help me with this one as well. When I put those thoughts into words, she let out a sigh.
“If Senpai says so, Mei won’t say anything, but….. Well, when you see him, please send him my gratitude for that time. Just in case. I don’t want to. But I don’t have a choice !”
“Y-yeah…….”
She seems to hate him a lot, but I felt like he could help me with this case.
