“M-Me and Haruhara will put together the festival!?”

“Yeah. I was wondering if I could ask you for a favor.”

It was a shocking request from my homeroom teacher, Sato-sensei.

“I’ve been assigned to this high school since this year, so I didn’t know this, but this high school doesn’t make committee members for every event like the cultural festival, right Haruhara-san?”

“Well, yes.”

“Eh!? I-is that so?”

It’s kind of unusual.

Normally, I think there would be an executive committee for each event to coordinate the opinions of the class, but what’s the point when there’s no executive committee for a school festival, which is so difficult to plan and run, even if it’s not for sports festivals?

“At my high school, the class president and vice president are basically in charge of the class for every school event, and last year I was in charge of the class cultural festival.”

Oh …… I see. So last year, Haruhara and Yunohara, who were in the honor student group, were the main organizers of the school festival.

Certainly, the position of [deputy class president] was a strange one, but since they don’t appoint a committee member for each event, they put him or her in a support role for the class president.

But as a result, I am sure that the gal groups are antagonistic because of that system.

Because only honor students can be class president or vice president.

The problematic members of the gal group are not allowed to intervene in the cultural festival, so it is no wonder that they are constantly ordered around and cracks appear in the organization of the festival.

“If that is the case, Haruhara-san and Yunohara-san will be in charge of the festival this year as well, right? Actually, I …… heard about last year’s festival from the head of the school year.”

The teacher mutters with a wry smile.

“Last year, you got into a fight with the gals and ended up being boycotted, right?”

“Y-yes…I’m not good enough.”

“I don’t think so! But, well, this system makes me feel sorry for the gals again this year,…… so! I called Kajimoto-kun.”

“…… what? No, no! Why me?!”

What happened to the reason why I had to be called?

“Because, Kajimoto-kun, before HR this morning, you were having a friendly conversation with Yukikawa-san and Hitomi-san, weren’t you?”

“That’s …… well…”

“I thought it was unusual for a guy to be able to talk to those girls, and I thought Kajimoto-kun could reflect the opinions of not only the gals, but also the boys. So you’re saying a great choice?~”

Am I the only one who thinks she’s not a good judge of character?

Not only am I just the “cook” in the gal group, but I’m also a lonely transfer student who only talks to my male classmates during PE!

“It is true that Kajimoto-kun seems to be able to talk well with Yukikawa-san, and if Kajimoto-kun is on the executive committee of the school festival, maybe Konomii and the others will listen to the opinions of all the gals if Kajimoto-kun speaks up.”

Maybe they’ll listen to me ……hey hey?

“Well, let me get this out of the way.”

“What?”

“Haruhara is the leader of the honor student girls, including Yunohara, and maybe Haruhara herself can get the gals to agree with her, instead of me.”

“If I could do that, last year’s fight wouldn’t have happened. ……”

Haruhara said sadly and said nothing more.

Haruhara was Haruhara too, …… did something happen at the cultural festival?

“Anyway. I’ve decided to make our class the only committee member for the festival, and Haruhara-san will be the representative for the girls’ group, and Kajimoto-kun will be the representative for the boys’ & gals’ group. Please do that, okay?”

“I understand. Good luck, Kajimoto-kun.”

“Uh……… y-yeah”

I’m a loner who doesn’t get along with the guys and gals that well, but I’m the representative of the guys and gals group.

(Damn! If I hadn’t gotten close to the gals in the first place, none of this would have happened!)

I realized painfully that that one bowl of vegetable soup had been a turning point in my life.

My stomach ached just thinking about what was seriously going to happen to me from now on.

First of all, I was thinking about how I was going to explain to Yukikawa and the others when I went back to the classroom.
