“Why are Kanna and Asakura here !? What about work !? What’s going on with club activities !?”

“The air is getting rougher as you look at it. Even if it’s not there, it’s still a scene of chaos.”

“This is not the time to be calm ! Sasatsuki, get out of here right now. Hurry up before the two of them notice.”

Even though she is invincible, the possibility of her being noticed is not zero. If it were to become known that I went home with Sasatsuki, it would definitely be troublesome. If I could, I would like to turn around too, but,

“Ah ! Jinpei kun !”

“Is that Sasatsuki Mika with him? Why is she with Itsuki?”

While I was in a panic, I was immediately noticed by them. Kanna leans over the wall and waves at me. The expression on her face gradually changes from smiling to stern. By the way, Asakura, who is standing next to her, is cowering her shoulders with a wry smile. While I was thinking about what to do, the phone in my breast pocket vibrated.

“H-hello…….”

“How long are you going to stand there in a daze, Jinpei kun? Why don’t you come over here quickly?”

“T-that’s…….”

Her tone was calm, but I couldn’t read the emotion contained within it at all. Therefore, it was eerie and made me feel like sweat was running down my spine.

“Or is that also the reason why you can’t come here? Well, for example…because you’re with Sasatsuki san, who’s holding shopping bags in her hands?”

Scary, scary, scary ! Where did you get that bottom-chilling voice from? No, it’s more about the fact that Sasatsuki’s presence is known.

“I think it was probably because they were both upset. Or Hanazono kanna’s wild intuition. Asakura Nao probably noticed it too, but that was probably a gut.”

Sasatsuki mutters as she puts her hand on her chin. I’m grateful that she’s still in her detective mode, but I’d like her to come up with a solution now rather than making deductions. If things continue as they are, a disastrous bloodbath may rain down on our peaceful dinner time.

“Let’s give up and go to jail, Itsuki. Don’t worry, I’ll do my best to make you avoid jail time.”

“Am I guilty as charged at this point?”

[Fufufu. Come on, Jinpei kun. Please come here quickly. I’d like to talk to you about various things, including Asakura san’s case, okay?]

“…………Yes, I understand.”

Resigning myself to the pressure from my childhood friend, I answered weakly and hung up. Can I say that this is the ability that she acquired as a president?

Sasatsuki placed her hand on my shoulder as I felt depressed and said, [Let’s go]  like a seasoned detective who was approaching the criminal who had turned himself in. Although you seem calm, please don’t forget that you are also the one being pursued by Kanna.

“You should feel like you’re in a big boat. I’m going to say, [Yes, objection] and I’m going to break it down for you.”

“…I feel nothing but anxiety.”

I don’t know where she got such confidence, but Sasatsuki was puffing her chest out. Feeling a little uneasy, we headed to the fourth floor where Kanna and Asakura were waiting. Why do I have to be nervous to go home?

“Welcome home, Jinpei kun. And good evening, Sasatsuki san. What a coincidence that we meet here.”

“G-good evening…….”

Sasatsuki’s earlier confidence seems to have vanished in an instant before Kanna’s smile. She returned the greeting in a hushed voice and hid behind my back as if she were a small animal hiding from its natural enemy.

“Hi, Itsuki. It’s been a while.”

Asakura called out to me in a friendly manner with a fake smile on her face. I cower my shoulders as I ask her, feeling most strange and eerie to be here.

“Don’t you ‘hi’ me. Why are you here, Asakura?”

It seems a little early for club activities to be over. It would have been nice if she had taken a break considering the condition of her legs, but it wasn’t like she was slacking off.

“Of course, that’s because I asked Misuta sensei for your address. She’s also the coach of the track and field team, so when I asked her your address so that I could persuade you to be the exclusive manager, she simply gave it to me.”

“What’s going on with information security at that school?”

Unlike schools in the countryside, where privacy is a luxury, Amanohashidate Academy is located in a big city. I don’t think it’s right to give out personal information to strangers so easily, no matter if they are classmates or not.

“If only Itsuki had shaken his head honestly at that time, I wouldn’t be here.”

“It’s still crazy that you barged into my house on the same day I turned you down.”

“Fufufu You seem to be having a very pleasant conversation, Jinpei kun, Asakura san.”

Just as I was getting fed up with my conversation with Asakura, Kanna interrupted me. This would be a great help during normal times, but unfortunately I’m currently under a state of emergency. I have to do something about my childhood friend whose face is smiling but whose eyes aren’t.

“I heard, Jinpei kun. I can’t believe you’ve been asked to become the exclusive manager for Asakura san, who is aiming to be the top sports trainer not only in Japan but also in the world. He truly is unparalleled in the world.”

“……Erm, Kanna san?”

If I were told that the girl speaking with a smile on her mouth was actually Kanna’s doppelganger and a different person, I would almost believe it. I feel such fear.

“I heard a little about it from Sasatsuki san. The ability you developed in the mountains? I heard that you can sense her presence with the ability you have gained in the mountains. Jinpei kun is really amazing. As expected of my childhood friend, I am very proud of you.”

I never thought that the day would come when I would feel more scared of Kanna than the bear I encountered while wandering alone in the mountains after getting separated from my grandfather. A bear is a bear, you can dash as fast as you can to shake it off, but even if you escape from this place, there is no other place to come back to except here. It was a dead end.

“Then, Jinpei kun, could you hand over the key to me for now?”

“……Okay.”

I no longer have the strength to resist the overwhelming pressure, so I do as I am told, taking out the house key from my bag and handing it to Kanna.

“Thank you. Now, I apologize to the owner of the house, Jinpei kun, but please wait outside for a moment.”

“What are you gonna do?”

“Don’t worry. I won’t do anything strange. It’s just the three of us talking for a while.”

Asakura’s eyes sparkled at Kanna’s words, and Sasatsuki gripped my sleeve tightly, her shoulders trembling.

“Asakura san, Sasatsuki san. Please come. Let’s have some tea and talk about the future.”

“I see, so it has come to this……okay, why don’t the three of us talk about what we’re going to do from here on out?”

“Okay, I understand. If that’s the case, I’m in.”

I have no idea what my childhood friends are thinking, but it seems like the two of them have guessed what Kanna is trying to do.

“Fufu. As expected, you’re quick to talk and that’s helpful.”

Saying this, Kanna unlocked the door as if it were her own home and went inside with Asakura and Sasatsuki. The last sound of the lock being tightened with a clank was an added bonus.

“Is she going to shut me out completely? Even though it’s my house, this kind of treatment is too much…”

I sighed to myself as I slumped in front of the door, my strength drained from my body.

“Do I catch a cold first, or does the door open first, which will it be? Either way, it’s the beginning of a long cutscene.”

While watching the sunset painting the sky red, I prayed that the girls’ night out that had suddenly started would end quickly.
