The interview started and the first part of the interview was about school life and higher education.

Since it was only the first interview and my grades were not too bad, I did not get any nitpicking like Rikuto did.

“Speaking of which, do you have a girlfriend or something, Mitsui?”

After about 10 minutes, when I thought it was almost over, the teacher asked me a question that I thought might be problematic.

“Sensei, that kind of thing is not a good time right now.”

“Hmm? Is that so? I’m sorry. I just had to ask. So? How is it?”

I thought he was going to wait for an answer before apologizing, but it’s not something I’m bothered by being asked, so I answered honestly.

“I don’t have a girlfriend, and I don’t need one right now.”

“Really? Tominaga was crying and said he wanted one.”

Did he ask Rikuto too?  At the same time, I picture Rikuto crying and desperately appealing.

“I’m interested in it, of course. But…”

“But?”

“I don’t wanna be in the kind of light-hearted relationships that other people around me are in.”

If other guys hear this, they’ll think I’m nuts, but I don’t want to do the kind of romance during high school where you assume you’re going to break up with someone.

Of course, there are people who date and marry out of high school.

But that is a very small percentage of people.

Most people don’t go as far as marrying their high school girlfriends.

“A light-hearted relationship, huh? Well, I don’t doubt the feeling, but…. You’re in high school after all. You should enjoy everything.”

I understand what the teacher is trying to say.

If I had a girlfriend, I would be able to enjoy my high school life.

But I don’t want to be like my father.

He is someone who made a move on everyone, repeatedly hooking up and then breaking up.

I don’t want to be that kind of man without integrity.

Besides, I’m still afraid of being touched.

After that, I left the classroom without any strange questions.

On my way to the library to call Fuyusaki, I passed her.

Apparently, she had predicted the time and left the library.

“Since Mitsui kun is here, is it over?”

“Yeah. It saved me the trouble of having to call you. See you later.”

I had nothing to say, so I quickly tried to leave.

“Um, Mitsui kun.”

I was about to leave when Fuyusaki stopped me.

But she didn’t say anything.

“What is it?”

I urged her a little more, and she made a determined face and said.

“Your father, he’s not a man without integrity.”

Fuyusaki said this with a serious face.

She looked straight at me.

“W-well then !”

Fuyusaki ran to the classroom.

“…Why did she know?”

I wonder if she was listening to me.

The fact that Fuyusaki knew about the content of my interview is a little embarrassing.

“Even so…..”

Does that mean that my dad is not a bastard?

I wonder if my dad was a good person from Fuyusaki’s point of view.

I shook my head and quit thinking about the meaning of Fuyusaki’s words.

It doesn’t matter what she thinks.

The fact that my dad is a womanizer will never change.

When I came down to the shoebox, I found Ayaka still in school.

Ayaka’s interview should have ended, so there’s no reason for her to stay except for club activities.

Something must have happened.

Ayaka was looking inside the shoe box with vacant eyes.

She closed the shoebox and ran outside.

When Ayaka’s back was out of sight, I opened her shoe box.

“…..I see.”

Inside was a lump of dirt and what looked like garbage.

It was proof that Mitsui Ayaka was being bullied, something that could not be hidden.
