Episode 1 – Pretending

“—Ryuto, look at this.”

Riho, a childhood friend of mine, showed me a screen of a so-called hypnosis app. The screen was showing a pattern of a circle.

This place is mine, Yamada Ryuto’s house.

My room.

Riho and I are childhood friends who live next door to each other.

Riho is one year older than me and in her second year of high school.

Riho is a beautiful girl with long black hair who often treats me like a little brother and complains a lot to me. After school today, she said to me, [I’m going to watch you study because you’re an idiot]  and she was actually watching me study.

Anyway, it was during a break in my study hell that Riho showed me the screen of her hypnosis app.

“What’s that?”

“It’s a hypnosis app.”

“I know it when I see it, but what does it matter?”

“I saw a review on the Internet that said, [This is a real hypnosis app] and I wanted to try it on Ryuto.

What do you mean? I don’t understand why she would believe such a review, and I don’t understand why she wanted to try it on me.

“Well, Ryuto, anyway, look at the center of this wrap-around ! –You’re going to be in a state of mindlessness from now on, and you won’t retain any memories !”

For some reason, I did not feel my consciousness fading away, even though she gave me such an order.

It’s a fake, of course.

But…..what would happen if I pretended to be taken by it?

That’s what I suddenly thought.

I’m wondering what Riho will do after putting me in a state of mindlessness.

She’s the one who treats me as if I’m her younger brother, so she might scribble a prank on my face and laugh at me.

Let’s see, let’s witness her barbaric act.

With this thought in mind, I intentionally made my eyes vacant and relaxed.

It was an act of letting go of my mind.

“—Eh.”

Riho was surprised to see me like that.

“……Ryuto? Hey, Ryuto?”

Riho shook my shoulder, but I remained unresponsive.

Then Riho’s eyes widened,

“–T-this is real ! !”

It’s not real.

“T-this is….probably okay to do it…….”

Do what?

–I was thinking.

Smooch.

Riho suddenly kissed me.

….Eh?

“Nnnn……Ryuto……♡”

With a troubled sigh, Riho continued to kiss me.

Even though I wasn’t acting, I felt like I was completely absent-minded.

 ……What is this?

“I…..like you♡”

And then she told me she liked me.

Even though she always treats me like a younger brother and looks down on me.

“Hmm…..I’m ashamed to say it so openly, but I love you so much♡.”

I couldn’t move.

The atmosphere is such that I can’t say, [It was just an act, lol.]…….

The storm of such kisses lasted for about five minutes.

And by that time, Riho had returned to a somewhat calmer state.

“L-let’s not do this anymore,…..my head is going to go stupid,…….”

Such self-control seemed to have kicked in, and Riho wiped her mouth and mine clean with a tissue before–

“Ryu-Ryuto….your hypnosis is over. I don’t think you remember, but forget about the hypnosis app. Understood?”

She told me to release the order and carefully delete the memory.

So I begin to move timidly.

So that she would never know it was all an act,

“……Hmm? Hm….was I asleep……?”

I said.

And then…,

“I-I was surprised to see you suddenly fall asleep. You must be tired.”

And she said so without mentioning the hypnosis application.

So I didn’t have much resistance to lying either.

“I see,……I’m sorry about that.”

“I-it’s fine….but I’m going to leave now. I just remembered something I have to do….”

After saying that, Riho left.

…Maybe she was embarrassed.

I’m the same way, so it honestly helped me.

But……I’ve learned Riho’s true feelings.

I’m glad, but if she finds out it was all an act, she might get angry and I’ll get into trouble, so I’ll have to keep quiet about the act.

Thus, I was left with a little secret.
