I stood in front of the door to the room located on the second floor of the mansion, on the far right side, and slowly opened the door.

Inside were a study desk and a bed, a small sofa and a volleyball lying on the floor. A small sofa and a volleyball lying on the floor. And trophies and medals. These are the trophies and medals I received when I won the prefectural tournament.

This was my old room. Thanks to Kagehito and the others, it has been well taken care of, and there is no dust in sight. I’m grateful for that.

Being here reminds me of the time I spent in this mansion. The days when I had many lessons to learn and suffered. There were times when I wanted to escape and tried to escape through the window. Sometimes I played volleyball and skipped my studies and was scolded by the Fumikage. When I cried alone, she would encourage me. This room, where we had shared many hardships and joys, was a place of deep memories.

As I was immersed in memories, my eyes stopped on something. I picked up a certain picture frame and my mouth slightly fell open.

“I miss it …….”

I took this picture when Mom was healthy. Mom, Kagehito, Fumikage, and me. Dad was away on business at the time.

This was one of the few times Mom was home. She was the one thing I lacked. I was happy to be close to her, and it was a fun time for me. I wish she could have watched me at the last tournament.

I picked up the volleyball that was lying on the floor. It’s a little out of air, but it still feels the same as it did back then. I want to play with it again someday.

“…?”

I put the ball back on the shelf and a picture fluttered down. I picked it up and looked at it. Both my mom and dad are in this picture. The reason why I didn’t put this photo on the shelf is because it shows my father.

My gaze stops on a maid standing by my mother’s side. She looks familiar, but I can’t remember her face. I had heard that my mother had a maid of her own, but I had never seen her. This person must be the maid.

She has black hair and jade green eyes. I had never seen her before, but for some reason, I felt at ease when I looked at her.

“…well, that’s okay.”

It’s no use worrying about it now. As long as I am in this house, I will meet her someday. For now, I’ll look forward to that time.

But still, my dad looks like a Buddha in this picture. …… I’m sure it’s because I look like my mom, but if I looked like my dad, I’d probably have this look on my face. I hate just thinking about it.

According to my mom, I look like my dad. She says that I have the same personality and the same gestures as my father. Is it true? If possible, I don’t want to think I’m related to that guy. ……

“…… Let’s give it a try. Fumikage.”

“What is it?”

I told Fumikage, who immediately rushed in from outside the room at my call, what I was thinking.

“…..what is it?”

“I’m wondering if I really belong here. Please do me a favor. I want you to do it.”

“……Yes. I will make every effort.”

I had wondered if this would happen someday. Even if I looked away, I couldn’t overlook this. I would definitely prove it. Who this blood belongs to.

“That’s all I have to report on ……. I’ve had no problems.”

“That’s right. I guess Reito is really popular with the girls. I wonder if he takes after Reiji~? I hope it doesn’t turn into anything bad.”

“Leave that to me. I will do my best to ensure Reito-sama’s safety.”

“Fufu, you’re as dependable as ever. I’m counting on you to take care of the rest since I can’t be there for him, okay?”

“Yes. I’m not going to let you down. I love him, Reito-sama…no, Reito-kun.”
