Episode 1 

“I’ve found someone I like, so I want you to break up with me.”

My childhood friend and girlfriend, Yoshino Sumika, suddenly broke up with me at a family restaurant not far from my house that I often visit with her, and I dropped the fork and knife I was holding to eat pancakes on the desk.

I have been dating Sumika since we were in the first year of junior high school, and now that we are in our second year of high school, we have already been dating for four years.

I had thought that my relationship with Sumika would continue for a long time, so I could not hide my surprise when she suddenly broke up with me.

“Takamiya senpai, a senior at the same school.”

When I heard this name from Sumika, I turned my voice inside out.

“I’m going. I’m not your girlfriend, childhood friend, or friend anymore. From now on, don’t ever tell anyone that you were dating me or that we grew up together.”

“W-what the hell is that !? just because you selfishly fell in love with another guy, you’re going to wipe out your memories of me too !?”

“Good-bye. Eita kun.”

“Hey—Sumika !?”

Sumika has always called me Eita, and the only time she mentioned [kun[ was when we first met.

The reason why Sumika suddenly called me not only by my last name but also by my first name with [kun[ attached is that she wants me to know that she has become a stranger to me, pretending that we never had a relationship and that we were childhood friends, just as she said.

I couldn’t chase after her or hold her back, and I just stood there in a daze, unable to even shed a tear because of the suddenness of the situation.

I hate to admit it, but I’m sure that everyone would see me as a miserable man with a lifeless expression on my face, just as Sumika had said.
