The new Guild Master, Catherine, has promised that the Adventurers’ Guild will return to its original purpose of eliminating corruption and interest, and ryu has decided to cooperate with the revival of the Adventurers’ Guild.

Ryu is not looking for a choice between the Adventurers’ Guild and the Commercial Guild, but is fine with the continuation of both.

He believes that adventurers do not need to be tied down to one or the other.

The more options available to adventurers, the better, and the competition between the Commercial Guild and the Adventurers’ Guild is expected to have a positive effect.

Ryu shared his thoughts honestly with Eil, the master of the guild, and Eil agreed with him. Eil did not intend to completely destroy the Adventurers’ Guild, and he was willing to have the guild compete fairly with the others.

He did, however, promise that Ryu would (occasionally) continue to send materials to the commercial guilds, and that he would (occasionally) accept requests from the Commercial Guild.

For Eil, it was more important to keep his relationship with Ryu unbroken than to get the materials.

Eil was confident that he had no intention of losing to the Adventurers’ Guild, and to be honest, Ryu understood the reason for Eil’s confidence. At the moment, the Adventurers’ Guild has a pretty bad record. And it would be more profitable to do business with the Commercial Guild.

Eil was reluctant to lend his support to the Adventurers’ Guild, but even if he did, what would happen?

How much merit can Adventurers’ Guild can give to the adventurers….?

At any rate, Ryu restored the dungeon.

The loss of the dungeon had a great impact on the Commercial Guild, the Adventurers’ Guild, or even the city.

The decision to destroy the dungeon was made by the lords, but the value of the dungeon as a resource was still great.

(The lord had asked the Adventurers’ Guild to attack the dungeon, with the condition that the core of the dungeon be destroyed. However, it appears that the lord did not really think too deeply about the request. It was informed by Eil, that the lords would make a different decision now.)

However, Ryu reported that the dungeon core had been destroyed. He had not told Daniel, the former Guild Master, that he had taken the dungeon without destroying it, as a way to harass him.

So Ryu decided that the dungeon had been restored on its own.

That might seem problematic, but it was not impossible. Everyone seemed to agree, and since there was no question about it, Ryu decided not to mention it.

After confirming that the information was true, Catherine sent out a survey team to the guilds in the surrounding towns to inform them of the resumption of dungeon activity. With a dungeon in place, it could be expected that adventurers would flock to the area in hopes of getting rich.

At the same time, they announced and advertised that, in accordance with Ryu’s advice, the Adventurers’ Guild in Mimru would be focusing on training newcomers.

The town of Mimru has always had a tendency to use and discard newcomers, and there are very few young adventurers.

First, they decided to spread the activity policy of “training new adventurers,” and to gather and nurture newcomers. They believe this will be a positive thing for the Adventurers’ Guild in the long run.

When it came to training newcomers, they needed instructors.

So, they approached retired adventurers.

Many adventurers lose their lives in the middle of their lives, and even if they are lucky enough to survive, many of them retire with injuries that prevent them from continuing as adventurers.

Of course, there are those who succeed in making a fortune as adventurers and live a comfortable life in retirement, but in reality, such cases are not very common.

(There are a surprisingly large number of such people who, after spending all their money on fun and games, return to become adventurers and die, or are injured and are forced to retire for a second time. It may be inevitable that the adventurer’s nature is to live an adventurous life…..)

Those who have no money and can no longer continue to be adventurers will take up a common job.

Those who are able-bodied enough to retire are fine, but those who are crippled and have no choice but to retire are often unable to find gainful employment and end up living a life of poverty.

For these former adventurers, the job of instructor at the guild was very tempting, and the guild quickly recruited people, so the curriculum for training newcomers was able to proceed without a hitch.

However, there was a problem with the former adventurers who had gathered.

As Ryu had long pointed out, many of the former adventurers in Mimru were of the opinion that newcomers were to be used as castoffs, and that they would only become high-ranked adventurers if they could grow and develop through such a process. (In a sense, this was the tradition of the Adventurers’ Guild in this town.)

But they should not be taught with a value system that makes it natural for them to neglect newcomers, when the goal is to train them to become full-fledged adventurers and active members of the guild. First of all, they must be taught that they should never abandon their friends.

It is true that there will never be a case where someone is cut off in an “emergency evacuation,” but that is a hard choice for those in leadership positions, and it is not good if they have values that allow them to easily make such a choice from the beginning.

It is easy for people to mistakenly believe that they have become a great leader when they are in a leadership position. They also need a system of auditors to monitor and educate the instructors.

Well, whatever the case may be, it is only natural that problems will appear when starting something new. Catherine was determined to just start and see what happens, and then make improvements as problems arise.

For the time being, Catherine decided to interview those who applied for the leadership position. When Ryu heard about this, he decided to attend the interviews himself. (Liu had been consulting with Catherine on how to rebuild the Adventurers’ Guild.)

Ryu has a gift called ‘divine eye’. Using it, he can even read the minds of others. If there is someone who seems to have a problem, Ryu can see it.

However, Ryu does not intend to reveal his divine eye ability to anyone.

He has seen the example of Golan, who did not miss the glint in his eye and asked, ‘Is it a demon’s eye?’ It is not a demon eye, but a divine eye, and he is not a wizard. However, no one would know that it is not a demon eye but a divine eye, a higher level ability that far surpasses the demon eye.

And whether it’s the demon eye or the divine eye, only Ryu himself can know how far he can see with that ability.

Therefore, when asked about the basis for his opinion that there might be a problem, Ryu could only respond, “It’s just a hunch,” so his opinion was only for reference.

Finally, they made it to the first class of the training program for new adventurers.

First, they began with a classroom lecture. First-time adventurers need to be taught the basics of what it takes to be an adventurer.

A dozen or so aspiring young adventurers (some of them not so young) and new adventurers, still in their prime, had gathered in a meeting room provided by the guild as a classroom.

The first instructor for the first session was Catherine herself.

But as she entered the classroom and looked around at the students, Catherine couldn’t help but exclaim.

[Why are you here?!]

This was because among the students, she saw Ryuujin.

Ryu [Well, I’m just starting out as an adventurer myself, so I wanted to learn a lot.]

Since he had been specializing in picking medicinal herbs since he registered as an adventurer, he did not have much basic knowledge about defeating demons or attacking dungeons.

Nowadays, Ryu can get by with his overwhelming abilities, but that will never allow him to acquire the kind of knowledge that the average adventurer needs.

So Ryu decided to seal off his abilities and study as an ordinary adventurer.

Catherine [I was hoping you would instruct them?]

Ryu [There’s nothing I can teach them. Well, I’m a professional herb picker.]

Catherine [That’s fine, thank you !]

In the end, Ryu ended up taking part in a class on picking medicinal herbs at a later date. (This was exactly what Catherine was aiming for. It was a strategy to tie up Ryu by entrusting him with guild work one after another.)

Regardless of Catherine’s intention, it is true that Ryu’s knowledge of collecting medicinal herbs is necessary for beginners.

He knows the types of medicinal herbs and how to recognize them, where each type of herb tends to grow, the distribution of medicinal herbs in the surrounding area, how to collect herbs that can be sold at a high price, how to preserve them, and how to treat them. In addition, they will discuss the beasts and demons that are likely to be encountered in the herb’s habitat. Picking medicinal herbs is also a very deep and complicated job.

The knowledge of Ryu, who had devoted three years to this field, was useful enough.

For a new adventurer, picking medicinal herbs is an important job as a means of earning an income, even if it is a small one.
