“No, wait, wait, wait—!”
I stopped in my tracks when I spotted the sign for “Private Sauna.”
I closed my eyes and shook my head, thinking it must be some kind of mistake, but the reality didn’t change.
—She’s done it again…!
When I shot her a disapproving look, Elis stuck out her tongue and said, “Hehe,” without a hint of remorse. She definitely did this on purpose…!
“Haa, if that’s the case, I take back what I said. I’m just going home.”
“—Is there absolutely no way?”
“I do want to go to the sauna. I mean, I’m totally in the mood for a sauna right now! But a private sauna is a bit much…!”
“It’s fine, Rintaro. You wear a swimsuit in here. They even rent them out.”
I don’t think that’s the issue.
It’s a whole different level of awkwardness compared to wearing a swimsuit at the beach or a pool.

“I made a reservation. It’s almost time, so I’ll have to pay a cancellation fee.”

Seeing Elis with her brows furrowed and looking dejected, I felt a twinge of pain deep in my chest.

Ellis had made the reservation with me in mind, hoping we’d enjoy it together. There’s no way I could just go enjoy the sauna all by myself.
Besides, this was a bustling district a short distance from the station. In an area like this, where the safety record isn’t great, if I left Ellis here alone to go into the sauna… I didn’t think I’d be able to relax at all.

Convincing myself of this, I started walking toward the private sauna that Ellis had reserved.

Ellis’s face lit up instantly.
Seeing that expression, I found myself thinking, “Well, I guess this is okay after all.” I must be pretty smitten with Ellis by now…
I walked in before I could calm down, changed my clothes, and headed to the private room I’d been shown to. The interior had a consistent tropical theme, creating a stylish atmosphere while still retaining the warmth of the wood. The sauna I’d gone to before with Iwami and the others had felt much more bleak and sterile, so I was a little taken aback by the contrast.
“Ellis… doesn’t seem to be here yet.”
I decided to look around the room while I waited for Ellis. There was a sauna, a cold plunge pool, and even a hammock for resting. I see—this is definitely a bit luxurious, and it might actually be a pretty good treat for myself.
After I’d looked around most of the room, Ellis, having finished changing, arrived.
“Rintaro, sorry to keep you waiting♪”
“Ellis…!?”
My voice cracked involuntarily.
Ellis was wearing a deep blue bikini.
It had a mature vibe, with a subdued color palette and delicate, lace-like patterns around the chest and waist. It wasn’t an overly flashy swimsuit, but it still revealed significantly more skin than usual. Her slender legs and toned waist—things I usually tried not to notice through her regular clothes—were impossible to ignore now.
Perhaps noticing my wandering gaze as I swam aimlessly, Ellis blushed slightly but, with her hands clasped behind her back, took one step, then another, toward me.
“What do you think?”
“What do you mean…?”
What was the right thing to say?
The swimsuit I’d rented was a safe, plain black pair of swim trunks.
In contrast, Ellis’s swimsuit was clearly her own. Surely she hadn’t prepared it just for today, had she?
“…That’s not from the rental shop, is it?”
“Nope. It’s my swimsuit. I bought it because I wanted Rintaro to see it.”
Ellis was smiling carefree. Her expression was as innocent as a child’s when praised by a parent, but her body was completely that of an adult, giving off a strange sense of transgression.
“…What do you think?”
Ellis swayed her body slightly and looked at me with eyes full of anticipation.
“…It looks good on you.”
“—Is that all? Don’t you have anything else to say?”
Ellis’s face, with her lips pursed in dissatisfaction, made it all too clear exactly what she wanted me to say.
I took another step back. But this was a private room. There was a wall behind me, so I couldn’t back up any further. I was completely cornered.

“…Okay. You’re cute.”

Elis pretended not to hear me and closed the distance even further.
Even though she’d been acting a little endearing just a moment ago, once she went on the offensive, she became aggressive as if a switch had been flipped.
“All right, you’re cute! You look so grown-up—it really suits you! You’re nervous! There, is that good enough!?”

Once I gave in and blurted out exactly what I was thinking, Ellis began to back away little by little.
If I looked closely, her ears were bright red, and even though we hadn’t even gone into the sauna yet, she started fanning her face with her hands. Doesn’t it look like I’m the one making a move from the outside? I’m supposed to be the victim of this cute “robbery”…
“Rintaro, it’s about time… let’s get in the sauna.”

Even before we got in, my body was already feeling a little flushed because of Ellis.
Ellis had booked the two-hour package. We still had plenty of time left.
