On the day of my date with Fuyusaki, I had a sudden thought.
What would happen if we were seen walking together by a classmate or someone in the same grade?
We would be misunderstood, rumors would circulate, and I would be resented by many people.
That would be very troublesome.
I glanced at the hair conditioner in the bathroom.
It was something I had used for a while since Makoto had recommended it to me when I was in junior high school.
“……”
I pick it up and open the lid.
Deciding that it still looks usable, I take an appropriate amount and apply it to my hair.
I part my bangs so that I can see my face.
“There we go”
Since my face is usually hidden, if anyone sees me, they won’t know it’s me.
Rikuto would recognize me, but since we are friends, I would be able to handle it.
I look at my whole body in the mirror.
A short-sleeved shirt with a collar and checked pants that are basically beige.
It’s a safe outfit, and I don’t think I’ll stand out in any way.
I put on my shoes and step outside.
Summer has just begun, but it is already extremely hot.
The nearest station to my house is different from Fuyusaki’s, so we meet in a town just a short train ride away.
I walked to the station under the blazing sun.
I arrived 15 minutes before the meeting time and called Fuyusaki.
Fuyusaki was still on the train, so I went to a cafe in front of the station and waited for her.
I feel uncomfortable today because of the stares I’m getting.
(Why are they looking at me?)
I’m not dressed strangely, but somehow I’m being watched.
Or maybe I just look weird?
I’m tired of worrying too much about it, so I think about today to shift my attention to something else.
Fuyusaki said she had a place she wanted to go, so I left the planning to her.
I was not told where we were going, so I was a little scared.
I tried searching on my phone, but I had never been on a date before, so I didn’t know what good spots to look for.
“ Sorry to keep you waiting.”
As I was doing so, I heard Fuyusaki’s voice and looked up.
Then I froze.
She was wearing a normal T-shirt and a long skirt.
She was wearing a hairband on her head and looked younger than usual.
The gap left me speechless.
“Um, Mitsui kun?”
I gasped as she spoke to me.
What am I looking at her for?
Even though she is my ex-sister.
“My bad. I was a little surprised.”
“What for?”
“Well, the way you dressed. You’re usually so mature, but today you’re looking so cute.”
Especially her hairband.
“I see. But I’d be happy if you thought I was cute.”
Seeing Fuyusaki blushing a little and getting embarrassed, I felt embarrassed too.
(This is Fuyusaki?)
In the past, she used to be unfriendly and I wouldn’t know what she was thinking…
“Well, for now, let’s go.”
“Ah, that’s right. Shall we go?”
“So? Where are we going?
“Fufu, that’s something you’ll have to wait and see when we get there.”
I unexpectedly thought Fuyusaki was cute as she put her index finger on her mouth.
I heard that there is a bus from the station to the destination, but I decided to walk to the destination.
Five minutes into the walk, I felt the same way when I was alone, but now that Fuyusaki had arrived, I felt her eyes on me even more.
Fuyusaki seems to be used to it as usual, and she is very confident, but I can’t help but be concerned about her.
“If you look around so much, people will think you’re a country bumpkin.”
“Even if you say that. I can’t help but be curious.”
And today, Fuyusaki is wearing a little makeup and looks even more beautiful than ever.
Do I feel bad for thinking like this is my ex-sister?
“In that case, wouldn’t it be better if you came in your usual attire?”
“Are you talking about me? It has nothing to do with this stare.”
Fuyusaki looks a little miffed when I say this, and puffing out her cheeks, she says.
“Geez, you really are insensitive.”
“Huh? I don’t understand.”
‘You don’t have to understand. That’s why you’re in second place.”
“Are you trying to pick a fight?”
I don’t really understand what Fuyusaki meant, but I quite enjoyed talking like this.
Although I had a quarrel with Hananoi, we talked, and I’ve been talking to Ayaka a lot lately.
Fuyusaki was the only one who didn’t talk to me even when she was my younger sister, so maybe it’s because it’s new to her.
(And yet…)
When I look at the streets where we are walking, I’m not quite sure where we are headed.
I feel like I’ve seen it somewhere before, but I can’t get to the answer.
I feel uncomfortable with that feeling of being stuck.
“Hey, tell me where we’re going.”
“We’ll be there soon.”
Fuyusaki would not tell me where we were going.
I had no choice but to walk on.
“We’re here, Mitsui kun.”
We must have walked for about 20 minutes from the station.
I arrived at my destination, and while looking at the place, I said to myself.
“This is another typical place.”
The place we arrived at was an aquarium that had recently reopened.
